Crazy waves lived up to it's name.

It'll be interesting to hear if it was gusty on the river because the wind on the ocean was a pretty constant 20 to 25 knots with fun little waves. Sunny and warm too.

JP Wave 86, Gator 5.3, JP weed 22

I need a few tips on Alpha sailing e.g. what distance do you sail for an optimum time?

Today's mission was hour. As usual got my arse kicked by the Snake but mission accomplished.Cool

Didn't feel comfortable ( a bit of fatigue from yesterday?)the whole time, wind was up and down and shifting, picked up weed, fell in three times so pretty happy with the result. Came in added some more downhaul and went back out. Chop was more messy than yesterday with few flat spots.

Final short session on the nonose gave the fastest peak of the day 34.78 but realspeed knocked it right down to 34.1.

Mission Accomplished! Set out with the hour in the sights today, rigged up the trusty 6.3 and set out with Lao Shi around 1pm. Wind was nice for that combo for the most part (all except the 30knot squall that came through near the end of the day, even Darryl said he might have been ok on a 5.6!!) Plenty of sailors out there today throughout the day and one d*ck of a teabagger at the end running through all the poles. Nice to give the mucles a stretch out today

Manta 69, NP V8 6.5m2, 34cm Maui Pointer

Wind NW 10-28 knots

Great 2hr smash n bash session - did all the smashing in the first 5 minutes.   Did a fantastic wipeout around the front of the board 3 seconds after posting my peak speed of the day!

Unlike many others, I was sailing the lulls rather than the fronts - I have a strained relationship with this board in any breeze over 25knots.  Really enjoyed the 15 - 22 knot wind range close to shore.

Good turnout of Pinnaroos - Jonah, Lao, Jeff - didn't see Snake but he was out there.

sonc 120 - 5.8 too small but did get it planmg when the wind came in. then put the 95 back but not really enough for that.

great to get wet and say hi to a few people

thanks to mark for retreiving my data. i left the gps switched on in the car on the way home so was initially pretty chuffed with my 39 knots til i realised my error!

congrats to jj...29 knots on a waveboard is very impressive, i will take my gps the next time i go out, being a quad i reckon it will struggle to do 25!

Another PB? This is becoming a habit! Congratulations again!

Impressive speeds for waveboard & sail on the ocean!

Congrats on the pb JJ! For our alpha sailing the proximity is 50m, so firstly you have to make it back to within 50m of where you started. Usually (I'm sure some cases exist where this is not the case) the best approach is to use the full 500m that is allowed for the alpha, or roughly 250m on the entry leg and 250m on the exit leg. Also sailing square to the wind helps some people too.

Well done on the alpha PB, JJ. Nice numbers for a wave board.

Good going Jake! What was better about todays conditions?

... and a good showing Mark, especially after your marathon effort yesterday. I don't know how you do it.
