Safety Bay, WA, AU 85 Sonic, 70L no nose, 70L waveboard, 26 choco weedy, 4.9 Koncept.

We were the Pondaroos today, at least 7 of us at Safety Bay. Thanks for keeping me company guys!

No really flat water but my best 2 sec & 5X10 of the year. My best 5X10 EVER actually, and my second best 2 sec, so I'm pleased with those. A top 5 alpha too. Amazing the difference some decent wind can make.

With some flat water I could crack 30 knots I think.

Felt comfortable with the 4.9 Koncept for the first time today, thanks to some tuning tips from Jesper last time I used it, and was plenty powered up. A bit overpowered at the end. I will be very sore tomorrow (but happy).

Safety Bay, WA, AU

Fantastic team day - 7 Pinnas out and a real seabreeze for a change - perhaps gusting to 30 knots.

Tide was too high on the run and sticky weed helped to keep the speeds down a bit although Slowy seemed to be as quick as usual.

F2 SX 81, Code Red 6.1 then changed down to Code Red 5 (same speeds), Vector Delta Weed 25 (catching string weed pretty badly) then Choco Weed 26.

Stuck to Kiddies Corner at SB today, couldn't handle the chop on the normal run. Good to blow out the cobwebs.

Well done to the guys going full tilt in those conditions!

Congrats Anita on the PB!!!

Melville Beach, WA, AU

Not my cup of tea today - choppy and highly variable wind strength 0 - 25 knots - good for not much other than injuries in my humble opinion.  Ran the gear in cruise mode today - not keen to have another injury in rubbish conditions for the sake of an extra knot or three.

Went to Pelican Point initially but couldn't find parking - redirected to Melville and spent the rest of the day wondering why.

Big day out for the team - great to get some wind. Made me think I need some other form of exercise so I have a bit more fitness. Very choppy but still a lot of fun. Best times were on the Sonic 95 early afternoon. Tried the CA Speed but couldnt control it in the chop (probably just too tired). 5.8 Koncept choco 27 weedy.

Fun sesh at Safety Bay with a bunch of team mates.Cool

On the water by 4 with the SP47 + 6.6 TR7 + 23 KA assy.

Did 8 mile on that combo, but she was a hairy ride down the moguls, and truly butt-clenching rounding up into the swell at the end of the run, so I switched to the 90 XFire + JP 31 weedy.  The 90 was much more comfortable and fun to sail in the choppy conditions, and no slower...I got my 2-sec peak and 3/5 10 second runs on the 90, so the speed board didn't offer any advantage.

Really windy, gusting to well over 25K at times.  I'd forgotten how much fun it is to sail fully lit in 25 knots.  Even the upwind runs back to the top of the speed run were awesome fun, and gybing was full on.  I went for a bunch of alphas in the pond, but it was hard to find a fast line through the traffic, despite consistently hitting near-30K on entry.

All in all a ripper sesh.  It was too choppy for epic speeds, but the fun factor was high.  Thrills and spills a plenty. Laughing

Thanks Huey I needed that.

Great team day at the beaver!! Got down around 12:30 and the wind was lightish so rigged the 6.3 and went out for a blast trying for alphas which were feeling easy today few speed runs and tuning the 6.3 yielded a 35.5 early on which was nice, and some high 34's but decided to go in to check the alphas as some felt pretty quick.

Got the card out and to my dismay the firmware had been wiped clean so not even the data logger had been recording the right stuff!! aarrrghhh!!! All those alphas!!! YellYell

Quick check against Anitas settings and a foot strapping session and was back out there with WORKING navi . start from scratch.

few crew out and about but as everyone says the run didn't exist, and the wind was building so tried some more alphas in hope of snagging a decent one in the second sesh. gave the run a few cracks but was well overdone on the 6.3 by now so went in to change down the 5.7 - which made the combo sweeeeet Laughing

last hour was the best and finished with a couple of 36's on the dial which was nice considering the conditions. hard going but great fun Cool

Pelican Point, WA, AU

alright escaped from uni at about 4.30 and decided i'd just go to peli

got down there and it seemed to be ok was thinking 6.2 but that option is not availible to me at the moment so had to go with the ye olde 5.5

got out off the beach and was nearly going to go in and re rig the 5.0 but i just couldn't be bothered so stayed on 5.5 sailed up to melvile was very flat up there but nice and gusty as per usual i needed the next size up there

jybing was nice and easy with the freeride sail but the loss in stability was hard work and nearly threw me off a few times

Awesome session at the Beaver with a great team turn out of 7!

Well done, Snake and Pointman for stopping me getting Jelly beans. Top speedster to Pointy and alpha to the Snake.

Great stuff, Windxtasy on the 5x PB!Cool

Had a lot of fun running back in from the middle of the bay through some sizeable running swell.

Best session since December!

Should have had some weight in for the wind at the end. Brought the lead but forgot the jacket, hat and rashie! Doh!Embarassed

The Slow One was smoking at the end with a 40 on the dial in very choppy conditions!Surprised

EDIT:

Despite failing Snake's alpha 25 combo (Sorry!Embarassed) still happy with a 5th best ever alpha considering the conditions.

A little when going upwind. The rest of the time there were too many other things to think about.

Great going Anita, that sounds like a great session. How did you go on the no nose?

Windxtasy

WA

It felt just like the Sonic, in the "fit like an old glove" sense and similarly bumpy over the chop, although the wind and chop had picked up a bit and I was more tired, so maybe it was better? I'll have to try the no nose first next time. I thought I'd use my ol' fave first for comparison, and also because I'm always a bit nervous about trying new boards. The waveboard felt safest but a knot or two slower. Weird not having the waveboard turning ability with the speedweed fin.

You were missed, Scarrgo. Someone even thought they saw you, that's why I said at least 7 Pinnaroos at Safety Bay...

I knew you'd be pleased that I finally have the 4.9 sorted.

Yes. Less outhaul is the key. I have sent you a PM on seabreeze with details. You want it full, almost touching the boom.
