Tabou Thunder 70, NP RSR Eiii 7.0, JP Weed 36cm, Tab LW slalom 38cm.

Early(ish) start to the day wind was blowing hard when I got there so I was thinking about the 6.2 but with the wind expecting to drop of mid morn decided the 7.0 would be the go.

After much fluffing around seting up footstraps on the board the wind had backed of a bit, rigged up and went out, farkenellemacfersun it was cold, water was frigid breeze made the water seem warm.

Soon figgered out the wind wasn't anywhere near as strong as it looked and that it was very religious (holey) damn  should have rigged bigger.

The wind was also all over the place like a mad womans wee, didn't know where the hell it was coming from.

But apart from all that I had a ball (I had two but they were in hiding) extremely suprised to see a 36 on the dial considering I was underpowered and didn't realy do any bear aways, the 7.8 would have been a much better sail.

Surprised with how easy quick the board is, stoked with the speeds on a first hit out and no dialing in.

Time to have a nice hot shower and a pie for breakfast.

long morning at shmelville with lots of waiting for gusts and gas bagging on the beach Laughing, don't know about this wearing lots of rubber stuff but at least I fitted into my steamer for the first time in 2 winters (thanks to the"slight and sleasy" diet).with a bit more practice i think my alfa PB will be beaten soon.still a nice morning on the water even if it was a tad cold.

Congrats Rod-

Elmo the reboxed fin sat on the beach in the iso 86- so yet to try. Fits ok, just a little lip (1 mm proud ) between the board and the base on 1 side- thats probably the rough inside of the slot. Thanks for your beautiful finished product.

Im making my way to Avalon for xmas- will i need a weedy? dumb question?....
