Artur,

What are those symbols under categories for? why I only have km and you have all 6?

Welcome to the Demerits Giorgio. Thats a great first session with the GPS posted here. The symbols represent the six categories that are scored against in the GPS Teams Challenge. There is a good explanation in one of the guides on this site. In short the two highest results in each category are used to calculated the team score for the month.

So with this session Artur and yourself got an average of 82.72 km distance. As this is further than the previous longest result for the month for the Demerits, and you contributed to the result, you get a km symbol, meaning you have contributed to the team score. Artur on another session with at least one other team member has contributed to a higher result in the other categories, so he gets symbols for the other categories, 2 second, 5 x 10 second, hour, alpha, NM from the other session and finally km from this one.

What it boils down to is to get a team result at least one other team member has to be sailing and posting on the same day and to contribute to the team result for the month, it has to better any previous results for the month. Its a bit confusing at the start and there are a few misconceptions out there.

I think we've only met once at Kyeemagh back in January. Hopefully we can catch up again. Do you plan to windsurf over the winter?

Thanks Karl, I got it now, so the bold under distance is to show that the result is a team improvement for the month. Sure i want to sail in winter,  but normally i am restricted to weekends. Looking forward to meet you and the others soon.

If you go out over winter aim to get a weed fin and then head up to Canton Beach or down Lake Illawarra at Primbee. This is where many sail the winter westerlies. If your board uses powerbox fins I have a few weedfins to suit and you can use one.

Yes you are correct about the results being in bold. They count towards the team score.

Great KMs there Artur. Were you aiming for 100kms? I still have not done it. I was hoping to do it on Sunday but was beaten by the increasingly strong winds. My new 5.5m was too big.

Thanks all for making me feel welcome, looking forward to meet you all, can talk about equipment then. Usually I go to Foreshore rd with weasterlies, I found it great. It's the southerlies that are tough in Botany. Don't expect too much from me, I'm still improving. At the moment I am trying to make my jibes faster and more reliable.
