Road trip with Lao - arrived at Boomba's at about 10 to dire warnings from Doddi (hope you're ok) of floating weed and catapults. Tricky  anyway when you're sailing in a new spot and you can't see what's in the water.

The wind was a bit light at first so took the F2 but after hitting weed and the ground too many times with the 27 fin, I thought I'd get the 47 out.

The wind was steadily increasing to about 20 to 20 knots. Pretty choppy although there were a few flatter spots - the worry was it was the big clumps of weed that was making it flatter Surprised

NM was on port from the first bay, round the point and into the second bay - tried not to look for weed.

A bit unwell today so had to pack up early at about 3 just when the wind really started to boot in.

Great to see Phil (Bugs) again from Wanda NSW crew of the early 80's. Also Mike, Slowy, Alby and Matt.

Nice session at Melville (for winter). Timed it just right rigging up as it came in and built, then had enough as it dropped out. Nasty chop at times but good to finally have some wind!

Started the day with a Bakehouse pie for sustenance and needed it for a long day at the Boombas office.

Was not optimistic after seeing Crasher packing up after some weedy carnage.

Wind was fairly light so rigged the 6.3 and the 90.

Very nervous runs in to the bay often unhooked and wheelying when running throught the underwater weed expecting an off at any moment.

Wind was pretty light so went back in for a bit. It came in and had a few more runs before heading in to try out the MXR 22 weedy in Lurch (had this fin since March but not had an opportunity to use it).

Frustrated with slower runs than on the 90 and headed out in to the second bay where despite some decent gusts was not going any faster.

Hesitant to go for a naughty in to the 2nd bay for fear of stranding and the random clumps of snot floating around.

Mile was coming back from the point in to the launch but was pretty square.

Put some weight in and got a 34 with a bit more wind.

Finally the wind kicked in properly and scored a 36.5. The MXR was rock solid but definitely felt like it needed to be fully powered up to go fast.

Best run was on Strbrd for a 36.97 and a 35+ 10 sec just hoping there were no snot clumps in the way.

Very lucky to have survived the whole day without an off.

LB6.3, is90/choco 27 weedy, Lurch/ MXR 22 speed weed.

Boundary Island, Peel Estuary, WA, AU

went for a bit of road trip thought about rsholes but decided that coodanup might be better

started my trecking early but by the time i worked my way around to the spot i decided i'd sail it was about 1

so i only got a 2 hour session before the wind cut out and the rain came in

not bad wind and water, started on the slalom board for some investigation

and found it to be quite a nice spot and quite suitable for the speed board so came back in and swapped to the little one

got a pretty good sail but the wind slowly got gustier and swung more west

5.6 reflex4, mistral 90 sl, 30 fo weedy, 44 clockwood speed, 24 scarrgo weedy

Melville Beach, WA, AU, indecisive but eventually rigged 5.8 Koncept and sonic. Nice to get wet again (but not too wet). First sail since May.

Melville Beach, WA, AU

Nice to be back after 2 months in Europe visiting pretty French villages, eating great food and drinking a wide selection of wines on warm summer days.

Back to Melville on a winter day with the usual gusty winds. Found I can still sail but only just. Terrible jybes.

Iso 122 then RRD 98 with 6.5 sail which was not enough to start with then too much as the wind filled in.

Met Grumpy who had a smile on his face :)

Nice numbers guys!

Glad to hear you are back on the water Ricey. Just got back myself. This cold weather is going to be a bit hard to take after all that warmth and sunshine...
