Tabou Thunder 70cm, NP RSR Eiii 7.0m LE 36cm

Nice little sail after work, wanted to bang out an hour in my quest of improved fitness and a reduced waistline.

Started out with a run over to Claudesville with the Rod, did a couple of short runs over there and a couple of what felt like sweet gybes (for me) before heading back to base, did another run over but the wind was fading a bit and starting to play hookey.

Couple of short runs back at base and the wind was seriously getting lighter so flagged it.

In hind sight the 7.8m would have been the better option tonight but it was all fun and a nice way to finish of the day sailing with a good crew out.

Arrived at Novarra a bit early so Dot could get a decent session in before the wind got too strong for her.

Speedgirl went out with a 6.6, I'd only bought the 5.8. so rigged that fairly baggy and plugged it into the 53. As the tide was still very low used the 21 X 22 weedy.

Spent most of the session playing with settings, had the sail bagged out too much, managed to pull a bit more downhaul out on the sandbank, but wind picked up a bit and I wanted a bit more. The 21X22 was also spinning out in the lulls, so I wanted a bigger fin.

Went in and did the downhaul thing, and change to the 35.5 30deg, then promptly walked into it and gave myself a nice cut on my left calf. Decided I really didn't want to risk getting estuary water into so called it quits.

Before I forget : message to everyone: During the low tides recently I went out at S Bend and got rid of the metal star picket that lies just below the waterline at high tide. So if anyone goes out there and can't see it, don't worry it's completely gone now. :-)

Nice hour Elmo. I left work early and after 15kms the road was closed due to a bushfire :-(  I drove back to work and tried to put warm flat water out of my mind!

Thanks for the removal of the spike Fangman, I damaged an otherwise pristine board on one a couple of years back. Dangerous things for us!
