Stanley, TAS, AU   Just enough breeze for the M41, 6.2 OD.

Todd missed the early low tide, but seemed more than happy with his first wavesailing session at Port Latta.Laughing

Definitely a good high tide option   for an easterly in the Stanley area.

Dorans, TAS, AU Very nice sail at Dorans in an easterly on the JP 59 and Hot 7.3

Not quite enough wind for some realy good speed but good fun!

Marion Bay, Isonic 92, Koncept 5.8, Koyote 6.6

Absolutely perfect afternoon at Marion Bay. Very consistent wind, shorts and tshirt sailing weather and lots of stingrays to chase. The tide wasn't too bad, even at the 20cm low you could still get across the shallows in the middle.

Middleton, TAS, AU. Isonic 110, 40cm, OD5 7.8

Russ, Dave and I thought we would give Middleton a go just after lunch. Wasnt windy enough for Russ so Dave and myself headed about 30km upwind to try a NM and 1 hour. Made it across to Bruny which was nice. The water is so clean and beautiful over there.

Just wasnt windy enough and we were super lucky to get back in. Pretty well got the last gust of the day from so far out. As soon as we got in it dropped to about 3 knots. New 7.8 OD felt great when it was powered up.

Wind was very patchy, kept thinking it would fill in, but just didn't happen.  Some squalls allowed the 7.8 to be powered up nicely, but not often enough.  Spent about 3hrs going upwind without bearing off at all and then just as we were about to head back down-wind the wind drops out (arrggghhh)!! Luckily just enough to still get back or we could have been in a bit of a predicament!!  Beautiful day to be out on the water.  Stunning coastline over at Bruny.

Steve, you were absolutely hooting, pointing really high and with heaps of board speed.  Considering we went out and came in at the same time, you covered almost 10% more ground than I did.  Well done.

Amazing!!

My best two 1hrs were going upwind, while my down-wind 1hr blast only averaged 13knots.  Top speeds were achieved bearing away to start the 1hr, before the wind died Cry

Can't believe there wasn't enough wind down there, it was honking through south arm.

Just to give a wind comparison; I was very powered on a 4.5 at Goats.  I'd say over 25knots.

I still think the only place to target 1 hr and NM in an Easterly is lauch at Cremorne sail up wind to Sloppen Island and then go for it ending up at Goats.  Take about 30-45 minutes to get back to Cremorne if you had to sail back.

Sounds like a planLaughing  What about from Cremorne to Blackmans Bay or Kingston. Dunno if it would be windy enough on the river though.
