Albany, WA, AU CA58sl, TR6 5.9, FO 25, MU delta sl 19. Road trip with Stropp as it had to be done cos no wind forecast for mandurah.FO25 was picking up weedYell, so stropp loaned me a delta 19Cool thanks mate! Amazing at how shallow they can go Surprised and it made my day more enjoyable.  Good to catch up with Steve, thanks for sharing a magical place to sail. Will be backCool

albany road trip and a great day out got there to see enough wind for a good sesh couldnt believe how flat the water was hard not to get excited i was thinking this is the best place ive been to so far with a wide expance of gold conditions gave me some happy feelings of goodness amazing to sail here and if it was windy you could get a full set of pbs here a good hit out sesh to suss out what i need to do when its windy using the delta fins  was great to go through the thickest weed beds on the surface at full speed and it didnt even change anything it just got smoother rigged to small and was never really lit and should of changed but didnt to lazy and relaxed  an amazing feeling to sail here a very enjoyable sesh with good company in a great location i think i could move here tomoz  after this sesh ive allways loved albany but now its even better just cant imagine what it would be like in a gale CoolCoolCoolCoolCoolCool

So did you enjoy yourself Stroppo? Nice photos. As you say it was pretty good yesterday. a strong wind will make it excellent.

BUT the tide was kind to us this weekend. In November, december and early Jan  it was low a lot of the time making the sailable area a lot smaller with NM out of the question ( without 3 gybes).

Great pics thanx Strop, a noice reminder of the place.  One of the onli times I wsihed I'd had a gopro, helmet cam, on that Magic NM Friday, just to capture how truly magic the conditions were, it was almost cheating it was so easy........... I'll Try and keep that memory alive for ever!!!

It's really hard to believe that Lilacs has been so underutilised. Steve always said it was good, I guess he just didn't emphasise it enough. It's hard to draw comparissons LG and there. There's more wind here and it works from a lot more directions, (I've done over 700km in the last 2 weeks), but at the moment the only mirror smooth water above 15kts is between the Islands, and that has a bit of a wind shadow.

I guess LG would come out in front but not by a whole lot.
