Great way to start the month, plenty of wind, 25-30 when I went out, but water state not quite flat enough to be in my comfort zone.

So used the 4.4koncept, on the 43cm board with 19.5 woody weedy. 38.3 first run, in front of cars at cockies, but didn't get a lot better. Tried it inbetween the Islands for a couple of runs, but not much different, so came back to the carpark. Kept going untill I had 5 10s over 36 and called it quits. Felt like the chance of doing damage to this old body wasn't worth the risk of pushing any harder.

Hopefully it'll get a bit flater in the coming weeks.

Expect a few 40s from the guys with enough skill/weight to handle the chop.

Maybe one disadvantage of this 5 - 2 diet, I've lost a few kilos.

Lilacs WA Iso 105 RSREII 7.8 PEPEsupercarbonbrilliant weed 26 wide at 45 deg

A hugely surprising bonus sail. Wind was forecast to be non existent. Trees were wobbling and yacht club wind speed was 20kts + (1300 wind speed for 30 mins 17-22 knots)

Yeeha. Raced down as soon as I could ( 2.30) and there were many whitecaps in the distance on the harbour. Rigged 7.0 and JP 54 and wind dropped and I got nowhere. Far more wind beyond the sandbar but I did not have time to change locations. Came in and changed board and sail and had a natter with Cliff.

Went back and wind started to build. but never any whitecaps on the harbour so sot windy, after 10 mins I was planing out of every (light wind) gybe and having the best time ever. Beautifully clear water ( although a bit low at .5m). Really mjoyed optimising my light wind gybes to plane out.

I had a brilliant sail

My plan was to do an hour and the result was excellent ( considering I got nowhere on the JP and had to change board and sail.

A brilliant sail. Did I mention how much fun I had?   Not the fastest, furthest etc just smiling all the way.

Quick lazy session for the last one.. did nothing but some runs, great way to close up the trip, using the small kit.

Great fun with ALL the crew Tongue out. Missing the place already

Time to go home, still 3 days driving..

Misty41, RSR5.0, MXR20 (could have been faster if had used the 47 I think)

Good time good time, great to meet all the guys, thanks my mate Jamie for the great time, thank you to my body Mike for backing me up every time

I will be back...

BTW, the water is still not ready, no flat water!

Brilliant session before the long drive Sam. Loads of top 5s and by the sounds of it some great memories.

Safe journey and hope to see you in Albany soon.

1st of the month and already we have an excellent 2 and 5x and health Nm, well done Mike and Sam.

It's going to be an interesting month (this is the month when Albany can get some strong easterlies)
