Top ten day at Fangy's. I had to get out early before the school bus run, so I probably missed the best of it, but it was still a brilliant day at Fangy's. The wind being in the South a bit more and a nice low tide made the run fantastic. I reckon I got the speeds in 18 ish knot gusts as I had up my KaKoncept 6.6 and never came close to thinking I had too much power, if anything underdone. It was Delta fin heaven today - low water levels and really smooth, just bliss, but left me wanting a bigger sail and more time on the water. Cant post much as snotgobblers have places to be, but in a two word summary - happily stoked.

I hope everyone else got out to enjoy such a great afternoonLaughing

Tabou Thunder 70cm, NP RSR Eiii 7.0m, LE 36cm.

Having hurting my back the last week at liptons from stuffing a couple of gybes in shallow water it's still not right and following over exerting myself (or something just as stupid)  Gardening Saturday which left me barely able to stand Sunday without the room spinning and the floor wanting to come up and say hello, toay had me trying to make myself transparent on the bog.

All was Shite until I followed my salt water therapist's advice and hit the water, then all was forgotten apart from the face cramp from smiling to much.

Yoyo had said before I went out that the chop in the middle was a bit nasty, unperturbed I set out over to Claudesville to bang out an hour and was quite pleasantly surprised to find my interpretation of chop is quite diferent to Yoyo's.

I was able to get back quite high up into cox bay on the return leg and did two more runs back and forth after, the wind was a bit light over at Claudesville but really good at the western end of the run.

Totaly enjoyed the session tonight, great fun skipping over the chop on some long runs.

Most fun you can have standing up.Cool

Another fun day at LG with JimBob, possibly the last before we leave, he's back to work, and there's not much wind forecast.

Today was only about 15kts when I entered and left the water, but may have been a tad stronger while I was sailing.

I tried the 6.6 on the 53 with the 25.5 30deg weedy, only picked up a bit of weed on the first run out thru the shallows, which was easily jumped off. Then it was just cruise mode. The hour has 2, 3minute stops in it, one to tighten strap on gps that kept slipping under my arm. 2nd was to check on Phil, (his first time back on a board in 10years) struggling to water start the 65cm. If I hadn't stopped could have been about 22kts, not bad in light wind.

Felt good out there today, body's just about recovered.

Here's the KA72 overlay.

Larko, if you have met Mike, you will know that with age some things get better...Mike isn't one of them. And Hardcase, you are absolutely spot on my friend ,which is awesome for you because I think that's twice now you have been right about something. And good to hear you are back on the water and the back is on the mend :-) the usual stonking alpha too!

Brilliant Alpha Hardie, glad to see you got on the water.

Decrep: you seem to have had a good time at LG again. Safe journey when you and Dot move on.

Sweet alpha Hardie and bragging rights for you Fangy.  Nice hour too Elmo - how long are those runs across the estuary, 7-8km???.  Mike, we'll really miss your posts from LG - travel safe.

Snags, smooth water is right up there with alcohol for making you look good! As much as I would like to make much of the bragging rights, unfortunately the pensioners on my team that were on water here, were crippled with shaggers back. So in context they actually did a pretty awesome job....as a result I just have to settle for sledging other teams and your result yesterday was soooo ordinary I had this pang of guilt about sinking in the boot..weird I know! :-P )

Fairybob......lol - Firie's got a new nickname Wink

Frangaman, yes yesterday's session was not enjoyable at all....unlike your posts.

Also lock up your daughters as I'm finally coming over to WA in May.  Alas it is only for 3 days for our National Conference (although I will have the Thursday afternoon to sight see around so hopefully I'll get down to the river but doubt I'd make it down to Mandurikstan)

Sausage, very unlikely to get any wind in May...

Give us a yell before you come. I am sure someone (like me) would happily show you all our fave sailing spots so you know where we are coming from and if there is some wind we can rustle up some gear for you!

and Fangy, well done on some great speeds! For a big guy with an average sized sail you do really well! Efficiency...

Sausage - i see you will be in the Convention Centre - obviously to encourage self flagellation, guilt and introspection amongst your fellow members about when architecture goes wrong. Once you are inside its functionality is good,.... just stay inside, preferably at the bar :-)

And thanks Anita, I am getting a bigger sail in the next few weeks and after that I promise i will save up for a real GPS rather than the mp3 player that I use at the moment.

Snags, the longest run just over 9km most runs just over 7km's.

The back problems are nothing Simon the Sadist can't fix as it feels like an alignment issue (not structural)

Just love the long runs, it's surprising how the different lines throw up totaly different conditions

Anita, Thanks for the kind gesture although I wouldn't want to put anybody out.  i may check the day before I come over to see if anyone is sailing a river spot on that Thursday and pop down to watch - may just throw my GT-31 just in case.

Fairy oh I mean Firie, Cottesloe does sound like a must see and swim too.

Sausage, Honestly it would be fun. We love to show people around our fair city, and at the moment I am not working on Thursdays. Usually by May wind is a rarity so any excuse to talk windsurfing is welcome. We may be able to get a few others along too. Do give us a hoy before you come.

Snags reception - Count me in Decrepit - how about we tie Snags to a chair on the Esplanade foreshore facing the Convention Centre so he has to look at it for a day, complete with a little sign that says "Dont feel sorry for me I am an architect" so the general public know why he is being punished. If its windy we can all go down to Pelican Point for a sail and Windxtasy can shout us all lunch at Jo-Jo's. How's that for a plan?

Decrepit

Okay if you guys are in fact serious about grilling the sausage I'm there on the 8th May (land just after midday).  It would be great to meet some of you, others not so Wink.  As I mentioned I don't want to put anyone out, it was more just if anyone was around sailing the river I'd poke on down there, say hello and drink their beer.

I did say hair as in the singular of hairs , but it is the testosterone magnum man Tom Selleck uberchest rug that I hire the carpet cleaner for. And I have to wait until the 8 th of May so they can clean all then curly muppet hair out of it and give it a service after Elmo gives it back...
