7.4 FR, 135 and a 28 weedy Lucky Bay. Fresh sail, comfortable on this set up today. 28 skimmed the sandbar just niceCool

Gybes are still crapFrown and nursing a sore back so thats not improving matters much.

But got wet, and lots of roooooom as not many out when I was there. Laughing

Other team mates showing up as I got packed for home.

Safety Bay, WA

Distance mission with Craig and Jake - wind 20 to 25 knots, sailed from midday to 7pm.

Had a go at a stack of NMs to break the boredom, great fun down the swells. Fun drags with Jake.

Tried the M112 and Tribal 33 combo briefly but the weed was too intense so had to go with the MXR 25 (a bit too small - went sideways half the time).

Beautiful just before sunset when Jake and I were just cruising between the main bar and Pengos bar in a nice steady 20 knot wind.

Mistral 91, KA Koncept 7m, HSM GPS 6m, MXR 25 weedy

Safety Bay, WA, AU

Aaah yes yet another glorious session on the water. Time had to be cut short for me unfortunately due to nightshift but it was great out with JJ and Snake participating in the"Pinnathon". We tried our hardest to find that pesky shark but no luck.

There will be more K's some other time, sure is a workout in the ocean though.

Cheers for the day JJ and Jake

Oh and if you are reading this Ian it was 25 knotsSealed

Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Another nice afternoon of drinking Liptons saltwater tea with Lester, Glen, Tom and Ji. Hit the water about 4-30 (light wind) and sailed till sunset. :)

Peel Inlet, WA, AU 125 rocket, 31 jp weed, 7.5 easy. Wind came late there and not too strong.

Good Snake, JJ and Lunny got the right numbers. Impressive distance.

Melville Beach, WA, AU

Fun sesh at Melville in a pretty solid seabreeze.

M112 + 7.6 TR9 + 33/38 CL SL2.

First go on the 33 SL2.  Pretty impressed with this fin, I was trucking upwind no problem.  The only downside in performance I could detect was that I couldn't crank the gybes as hard as I can with the 38, a couple of times too much pressure on the leeward rail resulted in a spin-out and faceplant.

Came in late in the sesh to change to the 38, cos the breeze was fading and I thought the 38 would give me some more drive for alphas, but my best one was early on with the 33.

Safety Bay for the mission with Lunny and JJ. A biiiiiig day on the water.

Arrived at 11:30 to about 15 knots which soon picked up to around 18 by the time we hit the water. Rigged the 7.0, Iso 90 and FO 32 which was just sweet today. Went straight up to do the Pengos run because of the low tide early on and stayed out there for the most part. Forced in after the boom popped at around 20nm which was annoying, but a quick tape and tie and back out of the water.

Snuck in for a cheeky ham and cheese toasty and and iced coffee after about 45nm. Aside from that break, only hit the shore every hour or so for a guzzle of water from the shower tap. Super thirsty work today. After about 60, I'd pretty much decided to go for the 200 and JJ was cranking the mile runs out for backup which was awesome. It's always so much easier when there's someone else there too!

Stoked to crack the 200 at the beaver finally. That may not happen again for a while I suspect Cool

Congrats on the PB Lunny. You would have really smashed it if not for work!!

Melville - IS101 Drake 36, then IS87 Drake 32. CR 6.5.  First time trying out the Isonic 87.  It was nice in the chop and can put up with a lot of fin pressure.  But so narrow that I didn't have space to gybe ;)

Huge distance Lunny! Well done! I don't know how you can face work after sailing that far. I hope there aren't any fires tonight.

Whoo Hoo! Pinnaroos back in second. JJ, you're not only the go to man for 2 sec, 5X, nm, alpha, and recently the hour, but now you're the distance man too!  A great all round effort again. I know, I know, only once per year. JJ, just short of a PB distance. Did you run out of daylight or energy?

Jake, the energiser bunny strikes again. A HUGE effort and a second best ever distance. I wish I had your energy and stamina. I think we might have to all pitch in to get you a heated wetsuit so you don't hibernate all winter! We need your scores and enthusiasm all year!

Lunny, thanks for rising to the challenge and pushing the others and keeping them company as long as you could. I am sure you could have scored a jellybean if work had not prevented it.

Great effort guys! You have exceeded my most optimistic hope! LaughingLaughingLaughing

I think I will be happy until at least tomorrow... actually I might give you a day off tomorrow...

Anita - I messed it up - I thought my PB was 175 not 157 - would have had enough daylight for another 8 kms easy Frown

It's all good - it was such a joy and it's windy tomorrow, I might give it another go Tongue out

Hi Sausage,

The very same one! I ended up taping (electrical tape) the tail section just inside the join to reduce movement and zip-tied the clips on. That did the job for the rest of the 4-5 hours. Smile

Well done on the PB GS! Narrow boards go so much faster and are easier to handle in chop. You won't want to go back! You just need to take a smaller step when gybing (otherwise you step off the edge!). They don't require as much rail pressure either.
