Good pinnaroos arvo at liptons with JJ, Geoff, lezz and the Swan river mobs recycle. Might not have been the best of conditions hearing the kiters talk but my first time there so it can only get better. Plenty of water but a bit gusty and lumpy. Chose the 7.0 but wasnt long before i realised it was overpowered, 3 hours later it was still overpowered, maybe i should have just re rigged instead of having aching arms. Kind of glad the PB's are only slightly better, nice to leave some for next time.

Great arvo with great company, thanks guys

Peel Inlet, Liptons

Hour mission with Norts - we set off together but lost sight of each other after the first leg.

Perhaps too windy for smooth speed (20 to 25 knots) -  pretty choppy.

Didn't feel confident in the shallows (water was brown) so sailed mostly in the middle.

Still managed to run aground twice!

Ended up at Coodanup, changed fin which helped getting back upwind - still took an hour.

Good fun, good team turn out - Lunny, Geoff and Lezz.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU 105 Rocket, 26 JP weed, 6.5 Easy. Great to see JJ, Craig, Geoff. Not the best of days I was told but one of the best in the old year days for me. Just the right combination of sail board and fin and the right spot and supportive team and I did what the captain wanted the best I could. I did not know I can keep on going lower but probably good or I would be hitchhiking back. If anything I could have done a bit more runs and tuning at the start. My harness lines were a bit far back and my front hand was having a hard time. Once I got to 35 minutes I was not going to waste time tuning. Happy with the hour I just expected better 2 seconds and NM numbers, it felt fast but like Craig pointed it was the chop that made it feel fast.

A quick session at Melville after work to try out my new (to me) Mistral Slalom 91. Christmas came early!

Spinning out all over the place at first, so a quick trip to the beach to buy a new Tribal Speed Weed from Slowboat. Thats better!

Still some tuning required, but had the board flying across the wind by the end despite the fading breeze.

Now you've done it JJ, you are now on my list of hour specialists! A pity Jake wasn't free yesterday to do a 24+ with you. You might have to do it again on the weekend... Wink Jake, you have lost your hr jellybean... Laughing

Great effort JJ, and congratulations on the PB! I know the hour is a big effort for you. Did you carry a spare fin and screw driver with you?

Lezz, very nice work on your hour. I imagine the estuary is easy going compared to Pinnaroo...

Geoff, another Liptons PB. Well done. You always do well at Liptons. Pity it's such a long way from home for you!

Happy early Christmas Chris! You must have a better relationship with Santa than I do. I wanted one of those last Christmas and I'm still waiting because all the available ones get snapped up by other team members before I can get them. Frown I'm glad you have one though. I'm sure you'll get better speeds out of it than I would.

Anita - I've only got one hour attempt a year in these old bones - that was it for this year Tongue out

Grumpy reckons he'll bang out hours up north if Jake needs backup Laughing

Yes, took a fin and screwdriver - helped make the hour grind upwind back to base almost fun...

Nice PBs guys Cool

I'm back in town tomorrow.

Thinking of a Liptons mission Saturday.  If the breeze is in early as forecast I'll be heading down in the morning to maximise my TOW  (I've got a social engagement late arvo).

Hope a few of you are up for a road trip, would be good to catch up with some crew. Smile

Hahaha! The cat is out of the bag JJ. You're the newest go-to-guy for hours. Considering you can sail most days, I'd say that makes you the perfect candidate. The expectation has been set! Grumpy and I can back you up if need be Tongue out Just let us know when you plan to bash another 24 out this weekend and we'll join you. I know you'll be back now that the PB fairy has visited you Laughing

Anita, I did get out, but only had 45 mins so just ground out some slalom training. It was nice to get out and have a blast with Peter Mac and a couple of other crew. Slalom racing is a completely different kettle of fish. Hour jellybeans are easy to retrieve, provided someone else (cough JJ cough) can back me up!
