I have been dying for a distance day for a while.. 2 days ago the Perks was talking about a mini one..
This morning the forecast was looking really average, but good for distance.. texted Jamie let him know Im on my way, needed the Perks to keep me compagny. They did all the way, making the day pass quicker, greaaaat session thanks guys , Jamie joined us for a quick one
Just just sometime on 5.8, perfect other times, setup the combo this morning and never touch it again , another perfect day on the big girl, this combo rocks, had some amazing moment getting lifted like a hydrofoil cutting throught chops , last 30NM I had no legs left to push it ah ah ah
Wanted to do 300 to redo my last year missed one, and nail the 20'000kss , in 3 weeks I sailed 16 days wiz 1364 kms

Got over to fangland about 2 30.... wind was a bit on the light side, but did start to pikup. Then when on the water
wind picked up some more.... lots of fideling around out in the water again to get things setup.... a bit of pain in
the forarm from not having a good balance in the setup. but things geting beter.
f2 SX-R, ka 6.6kon, 20cm weed48....

3574 days ago Fangy's with a cast of thousands..again.
The call came through that ScheckeSam was going for distance. I thought that I was automatically exempt because of a proven track record of being waaaayy to lazy to sail any distance. But it was such a pleasant afternoon I ended up thinking I might be useful. Then I got home and saw Sammy's post and immediately went back into "Yep i will leave the distance stuff to the other guys' mode.
Sammy that is an awesome PB - well done buddy!
It was a funny sort of day for me. I couldnt really get my mojo on. It might be that my grey matter was more like a side order of cauliflower today. Lots of dumb decisions, forgetting critical movements and generally making the Giants look smooth. I was either underfinned or breaking stuff or just generally not really comfortable. It might be down to Fangy's being rougher than sandpaper jocks today. More likely its Hardlystable's fault. The guru of our Mob said he was going to keep an eye on me and threw the gauntlet down for a sparring session. I advised him I was Brian, as in Monty Python Life of Brian (not Snags), and at best I dreamt of being a naughty boy. But definitely not one to be watching for a biblical moment on the water.
The problem was that every time I saw the Hardlymovin I started singing " Always look on the Bright Side of Life' to myself. As you can imagine, the noise alone is enough to put anyone off their game.
I started with the Koncept7.5 but the seabreeze came in with a bang and I wasted alot of energy not changing down sooner. Eventually I ran up the Koncept6.6 and hammered the Delta21 into the slot. That was feeling sweet untiil I broke the boom clamp rope. Jury rigged a repair and went into change. Back on the water things were really quite nice but I couldnt hook into a really good bullet when I was on the smoother stuff. Eventually the mind might have only been half present, but the body started to suggest it was time to call it quits.
So an all round nice session with nothing really remarkable, but good enough to be a Top Ten Fangy Day :-)

3574 days ago 2 categories Sammy called distance today, so my main mission was to back him up. Forecast here looked very promissing, and for once it was very close, only missed the start by about an hour. I got planing around 1400, the forecast predicted 1300.
As it was light started off with the 6.6 on the 53 with the 20cm 55deg. This took me through to 1600, when I cam in for a cuppa, and changed down to the 48, 5.8 and 18cm 48deg. This period got the hr, and best speeds, came in before thwe sun hit the horizon, to give myself a chance to derig both lots of gear before it got too dark.
Pleased with the hr, that's my 6th best, and only the 2nd 23 I've had. Runs were only 1.5km long, I could have gone much firther, but the wind gets iffy and water more choppy. I figure it's best to stay in the windy smooth rather than go into the lully lumps, where my gybes aren't as reliable.
