The wind reading was good, but on the water was just all over the show, shifting gusty breeze! Wayyy undercook on the 6.2, I sld have use the biggest 6.7 at least, wanted to try the 6.2 and cannot be stufffed to change.
The lake has dropped even more, I tryed a sneaky one betweem the Islands but got stucked . I think the game is pritty much over..
Great to meet Mr Cam, he is very passionated and a bit crazy on the edges and I like that ah ah ah, good to catch up with Mal, and some more Tassie boys . I wonder what people are coming for!? wind is gone!

Bonus sail with Shane, measured 10- 12 so we went for it, a few puffs a bit more, from SSE.
Fortunately tide just high enuf to get over the weed on the sandbank. Top speed was accelerating into an alpha ( which ended at 70m prox.)
Sail looked a bit crease at the bottom, I noticed the clear plastic batton clamp has broken, will have to chase down a replacement.
Sky was dark grey for the time we sailed, wind dropped at the end so we called it. GE included to show the different from normal direction.
5x alpha 18.57, was pretty consistent again with those.
The fin is excellent as it clears the weed being short and rides over due to the angle. It does not like a heavy back foot but is forgiving since it is easly dragged back into a straight line.

3553 days ago 2 categories Liptons, Gusty as usual, if you were fit and timed it well u could get onto some decent wind, had some noice runs, enjoyed myself, but felt disappointed couldnt go faster (the curse of gps) Tabou Manta 54, TR9 6.3m, pepeweed 23.5/48, Yoyo won the day between me elmo and him, he got a 37.3 on the dial, heard of at least one person hitting 40kts.

3553 days ago Some nice runs today but the f'ups outweighed the enjoyment by a long shot, not happy breaking my rules about sailing shallow water again.
Me thunks the waves beckon as I've lost my sense of enjoyment in this.

3553 days ago 2 categories Peel Inlet, WA, AU. A great arvo out at Liptons, with a good crowd out on the water. Nice to finally score a bit of wind. Started with the 6.4 and stayed with that, which was a good workout. I reckon the 5.8 would have been faster towards the end, but I couldnt be stuffed changing down. Looks like I should have stayed out another 10min! (Cant read my Canmore without glasses).
On the negative side were the dickhead boat drivers. Generally the bigger and more expensive the boat, the bigger the dickhead. These guys didnt slow down at all and if a sailor had stacked it in front of them, it would have been ugly. Wankers ....
Apart from that, a terrific day

Nice and windy today. Was really glad to see 35.2 on the dial but disappointed that I didn't keep it up for 2 seconds. Really fun time though with loads of guys out at Lipton's.

Great Fangy’s sess with Ray Gun, Impaler (and offspring) Shane, Bono and Tugger. The day started early with the excitable Wannabee boy doing his best to avoid any parenting duties by turning up about the time Decrepit kicks off his slippers. Now some of you maybe wondering about the 'Car in the Water Incident' at Peli point on Friday and what Ray Gun really had to do with it.
Well folks, it turns out that young Ray Gun was getting his gear off in the car park after his 100kms of Swan chop. The female owner of the unfortunate vehicle appears to have been having a quiet Uncle Merv at him through her passenger side rear view mirror. It also seems that she forgot " that objects in this mirror appear larger than they really are" and in turn has got herself all flustered when the Ray Gun inadvertently displayed the Stun Gun whilst changing. In an effort to escape she hit Drive instead of Reverse and the rest is history. At least, I think that's what he said.
Now where was I? Yes back to Fangy's. The weed has pretty well all gone now and so the water chops up far more these days. A lower tide helped to start with but even so it was still a rough day by Fangy standards.
It didn't bother the Stun Gun and he was just in a zone today. I just followed around feeding off his vibe. Most people come off the water here with a smile, but Toby was totally lit up and he smashed, well just about everything.
It was a day for people being in the zone. Usually Impaler has to make the decision to leave the day before in order to get his Supply Truck to the spot on time with the correct number of teenagers and their packed lunches. So when he turned up before I had even got in the water I was chalking a massive PB for him right there. Luckily the people across the road weren't home because I reckon Impalers forklift reversing beep would get on your nerves, but it got the job done. A mountain of kit and offspring deposited on the foreshore.
I left him to it as Bono and Shane rolled into town. Shane rigged as fast as I have ever seen him. The benefits of not having any chairs lying around to tempt him into shenanigans would be my guess as to the reason.
I dropped the F2waterlog Koncept 6.6 with Delta 21 hammered home, into the soup and went off for an afternoon of sailing out the aches from Friday's session. Without Captain Calm to issue instructions on strategy for me to forget, I end up just sailing around for the first few hours, just taking some videos and generally soaking up the joy of carving swathes across the water. Just one of those days where you know that your team mates will be smacking out the numbers and as a result you are gifted with inconsequence.
The sky darkened, Tugger turned up and the wind filled. All of a sudden things started to get a little more earnest. Stun Gun just went to hyper stoke mode and went mental. Impaler had the Gaastly 6.4 impaled into a big bit of kit, but still managed to get some very tidy work done, churning out some sweet U-Turns in the process. Tugger not to be outdone had gone really big on the board front, but even when I left late afternoon he was still managing to hold it down pretty comfortably. Bono was looking well happy with enough power at last and Shane seemed to be on a mission..again...cranking out the kms. I am guessing the longer harness lines were working well.
I knocked a few 34's through the mobile depth markers. Spurred on by all their shouts of praise and encouragement. My Mandarin is pretty rubbish, so I might have got that bit wrong.
The inside run was open for business and I used up a lot of fuel flying the Waterlog across the smaller chop. With an less than an hour left on the Fangy sun dial, I swapped onto JJ's Xsmall. As per usual I was doing my far share of submarine work getting my bargearse moving on a board that is anorexic, but it's so much fun to belt across small chop. Instantly another knot or two, but unfortunately whilst the mind was willing, the carcass was spent. I called it quits and was joined by a similarly spent Stun Gun. Neither of us could figure out a way to get our kit to pack itself up so grumbled our way through the chore. But eventually Stun Gun's kilowatt of stoke at his day returned to lighten the load.
Impaler joined us on the turf, showing an admirable amount of parental disregard for the whereabouts of the mini-Impalers, who eventually managed to find their way back regardless. As I left, Tugger was still at it, and Shane I think seemed to be settling in for an all night session.
A smile on the dial as I drove the long trip home. Absolutely a Top Ten Fangy Day:-)

3553 days ago 1 categories Decided on a change of scene today, weed is disappearing at Fangys, and with a highish tide, wouldn't be dead flat. Liptons is likely to have more wind, even if a bit more gusty, so joined a big crew there, (a few too many to mention)
Was hoping to use the 5.3 on the 43, but by 1500, wind was fairly moderate, Stretch went out as guinea pig, and was going well with a 6.3. So rigged the 5.8, plugged into the 43 with the old trusty 19.5 45d woody weedy, (yes Stretch, out PB fin).
Was a bit of a struggle at first, was thinking seriously of changing up to the 48cm, but the wind did start to pick up before I got back to the car, so stayed with the little board.
Felt like I was going faster than the GPS said, Think the lack of smooth to blame for that. Finally thought to move mast base forward a bit, which did seem to give a slight improvement.
Got my best speed at the start of a NM attempt, unfortunately the wind eased towards the end of the run.
Meant to try some alphas, but wind was too gusty, and I was usually either coming in from way down wind, or trying hard to get back up wind.
Here's my tracks, not many gybes in there!
