Had a great day out with my beloved at the Sculptures by the sea at Cottesloe, as I arrived at Cott @1130 the seabreeze came in to greet us twas really good looking at all the interesting bits and pieces.
Whilst there I got the good word from Decrep that there was some waist to chest high goodness on offer.
Eventualy got home and after a short while decided to remove some blasting gear from the trailer in ixchange for wome seriously dust covered wave kit.
See if you can guess when I hooked up the trailer
Re-discovered how sluggish wave kit is especially as I was well underdone, but I suppose I have to start getting used to this malarky.
Swell seemed to be picking up but there was a long time between drinks on the sets, the inside wind shadow was very interesting to say the least, happy that I got a couple of kooky DTL's which were pretty much surfing as there was bugger all push from the sail.
Don't know how many more sessions my poor little GPS has in it before it gives up the ghost.
All up a good day.

3546 days ago 1 categories Not my best sail ever!!!! I called an alph and hr day wind permiting, and also wanted to try the KA race 6.3. Plugged it into the 53 with the 26cm weedy.
Noticed #2 batten a tad loose, but when I tried to tighten it ran out of thread on the adjuster. Didn't look to bad so took it for a sail, went really nice, if a tad underpowered. Got up into the flat stuff, but the sail was looking ugly, #2 batten had lost all tension. Had a chat to Pepe, but he said the last time he used it, it was fine. Sailed it back down wind to base in case I did some damage, where I got my max speed. Stroppo came up with the likliest explantaion, the solid batten is moving down the tube batten because of a failed plastic joiner. I'll find out tomorrow.
After explaning where the nasty shallow bits are to The Impaler, I changed to the 7.1, then promptly proceded into said shallow bits and tried to gybe. Massive grindings, crunching and gruanching sounds were then heard, I dived of to avoid to much more noise and damage, but from then on I was spinning out, and couldn't load up the fin at all. Then of course the wind started to drop out, and in frustration I called it quits. Don't think the wind ever got strong enough to improve the Hour and alphas anyway.

fangy (22667km):
3546 days ago 2 categories Fangy's with a record number of sailors: Stroppoo, who was on Neighbourhood Chair Watch today, counted 18 out- it was lucky he had his thongs on and toes out to count that high. It was the GPSTC equivalent of a Sunday session. Huey indeed went to the pub early on in the afternoon and left his useless apprentice to organise the wind. Fail. But the water was warm the sky was blue and everywhere you looked there was someone with a smile on the dial.
I was hopelessly under done on everything and struggled the whole afternoon to get anything respectable. I think I am still in denial that summer is over and the winds are fading fast. Its time to start breaking out the big kit again.
What I did get was a truckload of good video.I will upload a Dropbox link tomorrow and every one can help themselves. I hope to eventually edit it properly. In the meantime those who want to have a gander can see the raw footage ( https://www.dropbox.com/sh/p1v8gf7gytj4bav/AABL8tv6PIJ5iHE985DW0YjHa?dl=00 ) The upload will probably take all night to complete.
I will post more detail later - dinner is ready and I am starving.
Suffice it to say, no one will walk away with big speed numbers today. However no one will walk away grumpy either (except of course Grumpynuts). Thats gotta be a Top Ten Fangy Day :-)

Finally got some numbers out of the GT31 after much cursing and eventually some sage technical support from the venerable captain - thanks Mike!
Unfortunately the wind didn't come to the party as hoped but had some moments of smooth goodness. Impaler junior pulling of some respectable gybes and oldest daughter planing so worth the run down the freeway. Hopeing there will be at least another epic day to make up for the lost data of last week...
What is the waterproof pouch that is worthwhile? The thing I got lost a clip and was useless anyway...
