Fangy's with Capn Calm.Briiliant fun knocking out some k's with Decrepit. Will post more later - school bus is waiting..Absolutely Top Ten Fangy Day.

In the meantime a quick peek at conditions today on the run in.

Well I cant believe that I actually followed the Capn’s orders today. That’s the PB for me right there.

I was down at Wamba just after nine and greeted by a falling tide and a perfect 16 knot breeze skipping across the flats. The usual quandary what to rig ensued. I went for the Koncept 6.6 and Delta Slalom 21 all inserted into the Vivien Leigh.

Capn Calm rolled the Commode into town not long after but unfortunately had followed Windxtasy’s lead and forgotten to pack anything resembling a wettie. Not wishing people to make comparisons between his good self and Fairybob, he promptly departed to rectify the situation. This left me to get cracking on the hour.

Note to self, next time you decide to follow team orders, perhaps pay some attention to the time so you have some idea of howr long the hour actually is. In reality it seemed a really, really long time. But after a couple of trips over to the Yunderup spoil bank and Boombas I had completed  part one of set tasks.

Part two was alpha’s. For the rest of the day I practiced and practiced. The end result was a couple of absolute stonkers for me, but they ran wide. A very sweet feeling all the same to keep Vivien screaming the whole way through the U turn.

The Cap'n knocked out a kazillion gybes as well and the two of us played in almost perfect conditions for the whole day. A couple of kiters turned up and made my day by providing a bunny to chase. Which I did. There might be something perverse about the amount of pleasure I got from mowing them down with speed uphill and down, but its just one of those guilty pleasures I wont give up.

So by mid arvo the sailing fitness had decreed that there was no longer any fuel in the tank and I came in. Cap’n Calm, I suspect was being fuelled by Dorothys ‘special’ cake and consequently kept buzzing around like the Energiser bunny. I am pretty sure that once again he is going to show what a legend he is on the board and trump me on all fronts.

Everyone’s favourite Minion, Stroppo, showed up in his work truck to get the low down. I am hoping there was enough left in this system for him to get a few blasts in after work. However for me it was well and truly stumps.

Probably one of the best winter sails I have ever had. Defo Top Ten Fangy Day.:-)

As Fangy says a great day, and it just kept improving as the tide went out. I left Strop Mr Nuts and Tomski enjoying flat conditions under a rainbow. I somehow doubt they's improve on Sundays effort though!

I used the 5.8, 53cm board with the 21cm 50deg deltoid, glad I used this as the weed was much more evident today, even managed to complete a planing gybe through a fairly thick patch, but it slowed me down too much to be a decent alpha.

Somehow during the lunch break the phone switched blue tooth off, so I had no music or sexy sadie. rectified that at arvo smoke o, and used the zoom screen set to alpha. Hadn't realised before but Sadie then calls each alpha result at the end of the run, So this lets you know when you've gone far enough and can think about gybing to go back for the next one.

The other thing that puzzled me when I had zoom set to hour, was after an hour I got a reading but under Hr it said NA. Once I was in the alpha view it became obvious that one reading is for the last run, the other is the best so far.

And here's the Xperia logit results.

2s 34.523

5x10 31.171

1hr 19.84 (and it's the 2nd session, whereas the GW52's best hr was the 1st session)

alpha 23.255, (and logit gives me 6 23kt alphas whereas GW52 only gives me 1)

NM 23.827

distance 124.3 Km

So there's a few differences here. I think the gybe difference is due to the pour recption of the xperia on my arm. It may be better on the head.

Yep just checked on one gybe the number of sats drops down to 1 from 11 before the gybe, the best looking gybe drops from 12 to 11.

What a brilliant day for sailing. Unfortunately I was still too sore from Saturday to venture out.

Obviously you recover more quickly than I do, Fangy. Congratulations on the PB!

Tracks from yesterday - Boombas was where I got my Nauti - water smoothness about the same as Fangy's but more of it on the westerly breeze.

The afternoon alphas attempts. I used the Experia data here - a much cleaner signal than the Canmore that is probably down to position on my back.
