Saltynuts (9854km): 5.8 Firewing,47 mistral,20 pepeweed Rigged in a gale but by the time I had tacked up wind to the run the wind died. normal shit. Wind slowly filled in enough to get a few allright but underpowered runs in, but then I had to bail to pick up the rug rat. Still nice to finally get out on the water again and good catching up with everybody.
Pepe47 (12846km): Rss 6.4m, sl 64, 24cm cpw. Spent some time procrastinating about sail size as people were flying one minute then plodding the next. Had some good blasts in the flat, dodging some fairly decent sized weedbergs. Pretty good turnout with most of the mobbers and some cst members all enjoying the summer like conditions. (with fresher temps). Must have been a decent wetsuit that Stroppo was wearing as he decided to take an unplanned plunge to cool off (where was that camera when you needed it) There were a few unplanned excursions, your's truly sharing in the spoil All in all a great days sail. Now back to the grind to pay for the toys
Tomski (21953km): Coodanup, WA
Mistral 91, TRXI 6.6, MXR 28
Got down late as life seemed to get in the way (mainly tiling). Rigged big as didn't want to plod around, but found myself with a handful at times so screwed on the brass ones.
Great fun and a good way to stretch the body back to straight. Good to see a few I haven't caught up with for a while. Still missed the PEPSTAR and Salty but next time
STROPPO (33661km): Coodanup, WA, AU Fun fest at Fangys lots out for a week day and great to catch up with everybody. I ended up on three boards and two sails so lots buggerizing around with the conditions changing all the time. I got lifted when I was sending it on the big board I bared of in a gust and found myself catching up to the leading edge of it with a dark outline on the water and then was lifted up at full speed with myself and the rigg well clear of the water then the landing and a nice catapult dismount and I was amazed nothing was broken. The rest of the sesh seemed quite sedate after that but it was great to sail with everybody. JP 78 NUDE 58,47 HSM GPS 6.6,6.0 PEPE CARBON WEEDY 26,MAUI ULTRA DELTA 24,22,19 HAPPY DAYS
This pic was taken just before the strongest wind of the day came through you can just see it coming in out the back then it was a mad scramble to rigg up! |
