Pinnaroo Point, WA, AU

Pleasant afternoon at the home of the Pinnaroos - plenty of windsurfers out and a few kites upwind.

Nice to get out on the ocean without driving too far.

Fangys visit. Tabou 105, Delta and 6.6 free ride. Breeze came in strong but slowly died out over the afternoon.

Just not enough to crank out a good 2 sec or naughty mile with the 6.6.  Tide was very low.

Caught up with the bunch down there, some sailed, some just stopped of for a yarn. Cool

Only damper on the day was the crew, windsurfers and crabbers being harrased by thieving slime bag smash and grab in cars parked in carpark and along verge .

Car with rego and description reported to police over last two days. Either the police are too busy, or these delicate little scum bags are brazen as all get up. Fangy and I came across them caseing out a car. Pulled right up behind the little arseholes  Fangy tried to alert the crabbers, who's car it was, but the dumb shits couldnt care less. Cant say we didnt try to assist themYell el scum bags drove slowly away.

Safety Bay, WA

On the water at 3 with Craig, tide was too low till about 4 when Anita turned up. First few runs had a few scary touches.

Nice and flat but the wind was mostly only 20 to 22 knots with no real gusts to get good speeds. A bit frustrating.

Craig had to leave early so I don't think he got down the run.

Still fun, just less fun than usual Laughing

Peli Pt, WA, AU. A much needed de-stress session after yesterday's mooring induced mast remodelling...Rigged the small kit today as it looked windy but it really wasn't much more than 18knots at Peli and the wind was shifting all over the place creating some nice vacuumy bits. Couldn't be bothered rigging up a size so just cruised around working on gybes and the odd chop hop. In the end it was just what I needed, and it felt good to be out there on the small stuff -  a real exercise in timing and efficiency with the wind being as it was. Cool I remember I used to always sail on a 6.3 and 86 at Peli. I now remember why!

Safety Bay, WA, AU 4.9K, 17 delta, M41

A disappointing afternoon at Safety Bay. The wind dropped as  the run became sailable with the rising tide. I couldn't even get 5 runs in before it died. JJ was really grovelling to get back. Lots of ribbon weed - the tribal weedspeed looked like a cheerleader's pompom but surprisingly it still worked. Changed to the delta fin as that much weed couldn't be good for speed, and there were some dangerously shallow bits. There was nowhere near as much wind as Seabreeze graphs would suggest and I was very  underdone. Surprised to get a couple of 31.5 peaks. Even more surprised that JJ managed 38. Well done speedy! Unfortunately Craig had to leave for work before the tide came up enough. I hope someone else got some good speeds to back up JJs 38.

I didn't do much today but I feel like I've had a real workout. Must be being underpowered.

Watermans Beach, 5.8 Panther and Kombat 79l. Nice little bounce around. ran out of time so had to go close to home. Bit of good fun.

Melville - IS101, Turbo 6.5, Volt36.  Didn't have much expectation but on the second run it felt fast.  The wind dropped after that when I was really trying.

edit - On second thought, I'm not confident the data is accurate - will send the file to Anita for checking.

Finally home from work to post results, nothing flash though. Shame the ribbon weed was really bad and the Tribal WS just couldnt handle so much of it so had to go with the Vector WS but that was a bit shy on length for the amount of chop. Having to leave for work i wasnt brave enough to risk the speed run with the lowish tide but JJ looked to be giving it a crack as i was leaving with Anita bolting on a delta to have a crack too. Still better than house work i guess

It was looking really good when I got down there but by the time I had tied all the knots it was all over

Danijel, the chop wasn't too bad early on but it increased later in the day. PS that photo was not taken today.

Thanks Jake, even though it's reputed to be a little choppy it's still a fun place to sail and there are usually other windsurfers out on most summer afternoons.

Rigging area and there are also toilets and showers:

Nice work guys. Board swap paid off JJ, wish I could have stayed. Mineral that's really off putting with the crims around. Maybe we could team up with the crabbers and help stock up their bait freezers, crabs would probably enjoy a pre Christmas feast of scumbag.

Good choice with the delta Anita, got to be happy with the speed. Might give it a try there next time it's low.

Nice bit of PR there Geoff ☺

It is a shame more Pinnaroos don't actually sail there.

I love sailing there myself, so I'll definitely join you for a sesh when I'm back in couple of weeks.
