As always on a Southerly at Botany, it was very lumpy and challenging. Big, unintended launch on my first run and came crashing down... welcome to the new year! Dusted myself of and had a fun sail with John, George and Remi before the rain came over and stopped the session short.

Rainstorm came through and that was that.

Pleasently surprised by the Southerly breeze, maxed out of the 8.4 at times and big board. Good to see some of the crew, George, John, Nigel and Brett.

Brett's son saw a BIG fin, I only saw a couple of dolphins... I say bring these shark signs back on the beach Wink

Good fun day, very smooth going , great to see Remi, John and Nigel. I had 1 hour after the rain with the big board and the 7.5 bagged as much as possible. See you next weekend !!! Smile

No fins sighted out there, maybe hes had too much Xmas pudding like the rest of us.

Which reminds me George went back out in the dying breeze....

Nice smooth corners Remi. Good to see your tracks and get some idea of how I can improve.

Yep, a few signs around would be a great deterrent for all the jetskiers and their families Yell

It was a bit of a fluke Dave. I was lucky to get an hour out there while the wind built with the approaching downpour. Once that happened it was all over. It was lumpy, but not too bad. I think I started off badly... forgot I wasn't at Budgie, had the pedal to the metal and launch pretty high with no chance of a landing. First big stack I've had in a while. Must say that sharks didn't cross my mind once while I was waterstarting... never do.

George... that's furhter than your 2015 PB. You're setting the bar high pretty early in the year mate. Wink

John, nice alpha mate. I need more practice in the chop... Bloody Budgie has made me soft.

Will try and get down there for the Southerly one arvo this week. Hope to see you fellas on the water.

Peace!
