Painful session down at Primbee after taking care of my horse duties...

While sailing in preperation for the L2L, I thought gybing into a swarm of jellies would make for a good method of encouraging dry gybes.... then well you get the idea. Ouch those large clear jellies hurt! I think open oceans might make more sense...

I enjoyed an absolutely screaming downwind gybe, with a radius way to large to count for my Alpha.

Sounds like the pain was worth it... generally pretty good winds down south, few underdone sessions in a wind shadow, but planning most of the time on the 90L! Larger would have made more sense, but I do like a small board.

Congrats for the great numbers, that horse must be giving you good advice. I might consider coming down next time, in Kyeemagh it was a nightmare of jet-skiers and full carpark with radios blasting from the cars etc...

Yeah, I have to rethink where I sail on nice summers days on weekends/holidays. I waited around 20 minutes for a parking spot, and then had to drag my gear from the other end of the parking area... only to be dodging jet skis. It was a good sail, once out over the other side, but frustrating before that.

Good results there Demerits. So what is the go at the Kyeemagh car park? Is it now too crowded and too much of a hassle to go sailing on a warm sunny summer weekend? What are the alternatives around Botany Bay?

Kurnell is looking more and more attractive for weekend noreasters.Gets the wind earlier than Kyeemagh.

La Perouse is also another option for weekend noreasters although parking is tight there too, there used to be a hardcore crowd sailing there for many years.

I think it is really just the holiday period, and can probably be avoided by coming earlier. In the case of yesterday, there were not many people sailing until around 3-3:30 as the wind arrived a bit later. I arrived around 2-2:30, and it was packed. Artur said it was OK at about 12:30. I prefer to wait 30 minutes for a spot than 3 hours for the wind, but most people are not like me.

Before the car park I used to sail further down (is it Bestic St?). Parking is still better than down there, but not much on a busy day. For me living near Pennant Hills, I probably should have considered a trip up the coast. 15-20 minutes more driving with less tolls and more parking, but Botany tends to deliver on the wind better than up there.

Whenever its going to be a strong NE seabreeze I'll go up the coast to Budgewoi. I had the opportunity to go sailing yesterday but I didn't think it was that windy and I had a sleep instead.......

I would only go to Budgewoi if the conditions are good enough to expect PRs. I just don't enjoy sailing on a Delta fin much. Yesterday there was not enough wind for that. There must be other places up the coast that offer clean water without much weed and nice long runs and work in a moderate NEster? Kyeemah generally seems to get more wind than most please up the coast.
