LilacsJP54 RSREvoV7.0 24MXR weed

Fun with Shane, Shano, Doddi and a load of kites

The hour was spoiled by 2 offs, 1 due to fin stopping in weed and the second when I ovrtook a kiter who proceeded into water shallower than I could gybe in. The sun was shining, wind around 15 kts. Tide went from shallow to very shalllow. I am looking forward to using a delta I have on the way.

the alpha felt good but included fin dragging in weed. Delta should assist with this. Same goes for the 2 sec.

I have downloaded GPS REsults having used Realspeed for years. It seems ok!

For those who understand the data below is for the alpha. Hope it is ok, 'tis from GT31 mounted on top of hat.

 1    12:47:05    493.2    25.228     0.202     0.214    14.462    30.246    8    1.0    2.7

Nice to have three 25+ alphas in my table, I know I can go more (and need to before Elmo kicks my butt one of these days.)

Albany, WA, AU harding rd isonic 76l, np evo5 6.4 , 19 speed delta . great day on the water with Steve , Shane , Dale . felt a little unco for a while till i got my harness lines in the right spot . I nearly ran over the local fiddler ray and as I was making my way in a crab decided to get intimate with my inner thigh resulting in a nasty love bite. a bit close for comfort. Smile

Boggy Lake, SA, AU

S 6-16 knots, Naish Grand Pix 128, Avanti M1 8.4m, BP 45cm. (Board seemed stuck at 25 knot mark, tried mast track back but board was twitchy when tried with wind pushing 15 knots eg lifted!)

Drifted around for first 60 minutes then wind slowly kicked in. Fantastic day to cruise around in a slowly building wind. At the end was a solid 15+ knots by 7.30pm but was buggered by then.

Light wind sailing without having to pump onto the plane is really special as water state is so flat and soft, magic carpet stuff:-) Lots of people left disappointed today but hell I enjoyed it:-)

Thanks Joseph, it was fun out there. The WillyWeaather forecast was wrong, 12knots it said for 5 pm, I measured 13-16 at 1330. Shane and Doddi are out going for distance and doing well.

Congratulations Steve. You are my inspiration regarding gybing you know, so it appears there is hope for me getting a 20 + alpha yet.

Great stuff Steve, those numbers look good, minspeed of 14.462 is not to be sneezed at, max speed of 30.246 is where you'll get your improvement.

Have a play with the "sdop" "50m" and "vic" buttons on the bottom right, that will show you just how accurate your alpha results are.

Shane, I think converting your file to .gpx has added another 8hrs to your file.

See if Steve will be kind enough to show you how to upload the .fit file straight to ka72.

Woohoo Evets - fantastic mate , three u-turns over 25 too! And you are an inspiration to me too, a true gentleman - letting a kiter run you aground, is that what is meant by Blessed be the meek for they shall inherit the earth?

Fangy it would be easy to have blamed the kiter but i was upwind and overtook him. Then i did not get far enuf past to gybe. I should have just gybed before overtaking. AKO had an event today so there were up to a dozen kites. Busier than normal but nothing when compared to many locations.

Elmo you had a 26 alpha 50.190. It is only a matter of time until the conditions coincide with time off work align and one of us will break 26😊

Thanks for the back up on the hour pj. I wondered if you would be out too. It seems we get reasonable conditions when mandurah is becalmed.

PJ you are a machine, I reckon you were on the water for about 7 hours straight. I was expecting 15-18 so left the 7.5 home but when it kicked in later was too choppy and too many holes, good to see you enjoyed it but it was one of the most frustrating days I have had
