matt (22123km): Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU just a great days sailing with plenty out. borrowed a big weedy from keef and it was truly a pleasure to sail the 131 powered up and no spinout, a new experience for me, nearly didnt have to give it back because keef broke his mast and was lost at sea, luckily found and rescued safe and well! Tony Polony (15626km): Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU Futura 101 / R3 7.0 / Choco 28 & JP SP 84 / R5 OD 6.2 / Vectra Weedspeed 27 An unexpected good blow. Arrived shortly after 1pm to see Stu on a 7.8 and it really not looking too strong. Following some wise advice from MT, I rigged the 7.0 and had a hoot. As the breeze strengthened I noticed Kapitain Keefy over in the deep towards the 'other side'. As he rarely ever ventures past the lateral marker, I was interested to say the least. Anyway, I changed down to the 6.2 and as I was about to jump on the little JP, I thought where's our leader??? A punishing run across to the other side (wind had really strengthend by this stage) and there he was - complete with a broken mast. Fortunately a boat was in the area who - when I mentioned who it was - jumped to attention and quickly transitioned into 'Search and Rescue' mode for our illustrious Kapitain. A great day for what the forecast initially gave us... | ||||||||||||||||||
AUS3111 (472km): Elli had the best windsurf day of her life....again.But today she had some massive PB's-cracked the waterstart and then was able to ride a 50 litre board. She also came extremely close to planing out of her gybes. Prabably would have got some GPS PB's as well.So proud of her- pretty sure no 10 year old girl has ever reached this standard in windsurfing before. GO ELLI Elli riding a 50 l board. Dezza (33973km): Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU Falcon 99, OD7, 31 tribal, then briefly 6.2/27 What a great day at SP. Got down there and Stu and Mark were out with conditions looking ok. Discussed sail size with fellow teamies and captain and opted for the 7m and special focus for the day was bear aways...with top tips on what to do for these from Captain, TP and MT to get quality bear aways..managed a few bear aways, good fun, did not yet hit 30 but one day it will come The day ended with a drama of missing captain, lucky we have the navy represented in our team, TP went out on a search and rescue mission and came back having found him way over the other side, broken mast, long paddle back, and managed to organise a tinny to go and pick him up. Thank goodness. Here he is arriving back in the tinny carry back the broken bits and getting a welcome back cuddle
