Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU || S/SSW 16-39 @ Norah Head

PD100, HSM GPS7.3, DELTA20

Well, glad I got there early. The best of it was between 9:30 and 10am when Norah Head showed 39kts. From there it was all down hill.  Wind was probably 20-26 with the occasional bigger gust. The highlight of my day was pulling off a duck gybe :) Also had a big stack trying.

Thanks Sue, Mick, Johnny, Matt for your hospitality. Good to catch up with you guys. Was a surprise to meet Berowne and sail with the team; Artur and George. Hope that thumb is okay Berowne. It looked really nasty!

A BIG GRATS TO GEORGE FOR CLOCKING UP 10,000 KILOMETERS.

Hard to get going with my gear, all stops and starts, cannot complain about the chop though... Smile

Today I finished my first 10,000 kms with gps challenge, I want to dedicate the event to all my windsurfing mates, I could never have achieved it without all the people that helped me. I'll be in Botany tomorrow.... see you there !

Glad I made the trip up early to make the most of it. When it's on the place is ideal.

First time at Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU. Good to get back on the water after a month of horsing around...

I went up to the lake to help George make it to 10,000km. I arrived at about 8 to find a solid 2-4 knots blowing across the bay... so depressed. As I looked around, the wind picked up to 8, 12, 15, 18 knots. I rigged my 6.3m2 that never got used, and 7.7m2 TRX that went well. The iSonic 90L was a tad small in the lulls, but it was so shallow, so no real problem. Well, other than 23cm fin being to deep, that is. I am now the proud owner of a 19cm Delta Cool

Good to meet Mick, Mark, Sam, John and to see Nigel, Artur and of course, George after so long. A Big CONGRATs on the amazing record George...

Well done on the ducky Nige.  Can you teach me?  Well done 10,000 George.  You have been going hard lately!  It blew pretty hard in Botany all day with winds 25-30 for big parts of the day.

Excellent effort for the travelling Demerits!

Nice numbers there Nigel. Intersting to see you trying new ways to improve the Alpha?

Artur sounds like he was a too late for the best of fun time. I had the same experience yesterday...

Big congratulations to powersloshin for his first 10k! That is impressive for sure and a credit to you. I am looking forward to some statistics on how many sessions, average distance per session, board and sail combo which clocked the most km etc. I like statistics...

Sounds like you all had some fun on the coast.

Kyeemagh was pitiful with heavy rain, watched for an hour or so and then left.

Rain squalls with 30knot gusts followed by nothing and then a repeat.

Half a dozen or so wave gear diehards out.

Well done George 10k is a great achievment.Hope you saved some Moet and cake for me.

Hey Nigel, good intro.

George, I'll post some of the photos to Seabreeze soon.... but in the meantime, CONGRATULATIONS on 10K,K or 1Million Metres!!!!!

My thumb only started swelling after I stopped sailing, and continued to get worse all the way home. Sweelling now extends to pinky nuckle and 15cm up my wrist.

I was thinking about the duck gybe today - pretty impressive with the big cammmed sail..I started thinking about trying but then thought you'd have to wait until the wind was really strong to use a little sail...

Yep deltas are essential at Budgy at the moment..just don't take on the seagrass mat islands..Yell What happened to your hand Alpha?
