Just myself and the Bozenator out for a fair while before many turned up. Some pretty decent gusts out there, made it much better with hardly any boats to chop things up.
Great Morning!

Spent most of the day getting used to the Koncept 7.5, still more tuning to get it right, Good catching up with Lunny in the morning and some of the other Pinna's during the day. Was very up and down could have rigged a 5 metre and at times a 8 super gusty.

Gusty, Shifty, Melvilly. Good to see the Bozinator and Lunnster out early. Vince and Lester soon appeared and after much procrastination chose to go with the 7m on the 107l. This is a 2s PB for this board and was quite stoked. I tried the 87l for a few runs but the gust were just to short. Quite a few out and had to bail out on the speed run several times due to traffic.

2870 days ago 1 categories Liptons, great to get Kermit out of the bag. All that bump and jump seems to have helped as I actually was getting my Gybes today. I dont think I was doing that the last time I used this board. Got out early and the channel was almost as flat as each side. That changed pretty quickly!
Great fun and good to catch up with the locals and blowins. Good MH day including the crab nip and dance and of course the fin dragging whenever dropping of the plane
Very gusty but they were big ones so that was all right, first run was the fastest (down pt grey ) once I found out how shallow it was I probably didnt go for it quite so much.

2870 days ago Peel Inlet, WA, AU 85 Sonic, 21 delta, 5.7 Koncept
No power at home today so I had to deputise the team emailing to Ken. Thanks for the tide report, Ken.
There wasn't much useful I could do at home so I thought I might as well go sailing.
Wind was a gusty 14 - 23 when I arrived at Liptons, so I decided the speed board had better stay in the bag today. The Sonic was the only bigger board I had with me, and tide was low, so on with the delta and my trusty 5.7 Koncept. The sail felt right but the board / fin combo was slow, so I gave up on speed runs and practiced gybes instead. Theoretically. I would make good ground upwind to practice a series of gybes and then I would get sucked in to a downwind run when a promising gust came along, but had trouble getting over 30 knots.
The gybing was interesting. I started with some spectacular dismounts which will result in some very colourful bruises, but as usual I improved during the session and was doing quite well (by my standards) at the end. Somehow I managed to squeak in a PB. I thought it might have been better than that, but a PB is a good start at least. That 20 knot alpha is still a way off.
Anyway it was a fun afternoon zooming all over the place. The shallows weren't a problem for the delta, and neither was the channel.

A fun day at liptons with Anita, Jeff and a bunch from Coastal Speed Team, Mandurah mob. It was the first time to try the 91 Mistral and it felt fantastic. First plugged in a 19 Delta and couldnt get over 30 knots so changed to the 29 tribal ws (25 fin would have been better).
Took a tour of the area and had some good runs over near pt grey. I also found the sand bank luckily nothing broken.
I might try Salty and Stroppos tracks downwind of the sand bar near pt grey next time. Cheers for the tip guys.
Congrats on the Alpha PB Anita!
5.5 Tr7, 91 Mistral, 19 delta then 29 tribal ws.

2870 days ago Melville, WA. 96 Supercross 6.6 Koncept 31 JPW. Gusty day at Melville. Few crew were already there and had finished their session (Lunny), some where on the water (Boz) and some were rigging up (Tim, [we should have grabbed that early wind Tim!]). I cold have used a bigger board today only brought the 96. I was only realy going for 2 sec and followed Darryl P on a few deep deep runs off the wind but no big numbers. Eventually became too much work with the glass off inbetween gusts and not beiing able to water start or uphaul. Saw (and avoided) a few dolphions outside the bank. Eventually decided that I would get better numbers if I took my GPS for a drive to the bottleshop to get some refreshments. Thanks Anita and Decrepit for amending my mistake .
