Melville Beach, WA, AU

Was planning on Safety Bay but last minute change of plan. Well worth it, best 2sec & 5x10 for the river and the Isonic. Looked like Ken was getting some good runs too.

The new sail is a beast!

Very unexpectedLaughing

Point Walter, WA, AU M47, 5.4 Koncept, 21 Tribal weed speed. wind 20 - 24 knots

Oooh, pipped by the decimal points again! I was trying so hard to get over 33 but couldn't quite get there. Still, I am happy with the 2 sec given the peak was 32.98. The 10 sec on that run was 32.33. My best speeds for the river -  30.12 is my previous best, also at PW.- and so good to have only a 20 minute drive home!

A great afternoon at Point Walter with Boz and Cannonball, and two French kiters, where the tide was spot on but the water was far from flat and the wind blowing in very short gusts. I would have done better to rig a bigger board and fin and a smaller sail. I also never managed to time a good gust today. I had one lovely run of 30 knots across the wind but when I got to what had been the bearaway zone there was nothing.

Boz had a great time but forgot to turn his data logger on.

Cannonball was clearly having a lot of fun zooming around as he was still going when we left.

Hadnt seen it this windy on the river for quite a while. definately could have done with a smaller board and fin but the 91 is out of action for a little while. Gybing became difficult as the wind seemed to get windier by the late afternoon so I called it a day before I damaged anything. Nice speeds Lunny, that new sail looks awesome.

Pelican Point, WA, AU 96 Supercross 5.5 Gator 27 SS. Quick after work burn; good wind and some fun chop to negotiate. Went on a couple of runs with Whitey and Daniel towards the freeway. Quite a few people out enjoying the good breeze.

Peli Pt. Little after work blast in some nice windy stuff. Great to catch up with Vince, Dan, Greg and Mike afterwards too. Only did 2 runs off the point for 37.7 and 36.4 on the dial, but it was chop city out there. The rest was coming back from Pt Majestic doing a few NM runs. Super fun. Had a bunch of 35's and one 36 on the dial out in the middle, yeeeeehar!! Cool

As if that great session wasn't enough, I got back in to shore and found an email in my inbox saying they'd stuffed it up (again!) that I'd placed 3rd in the Men's Open LOC!!! Woohoo! Podium finish Cool Laughing

Boz' data logger was not switched on so only peak, 2 sec, 5X and alpha available.

What a week after downloading data of the GW60 from the weekend LOC to keep as a reminder to myself (The trak is pinned up on my office wallYell)not to change setups on Race Day I seemed to have by mistake turned off the data logger function and uploaded the settings to the GW60. It is a pity the logger was not on some interesting runs accross the bay in some choppy conditions made for what felt like very fast runs for the nautical mile, looks as if I will have to do this again on Thursday when the wind kicks in again

What happened to the 91, Ken?

I cracked the nose on mine soon after getting it. It was pristine until then.

Whoo hoo Ben! Not surprised about all those PBs, you were sailing beautifully out there, and having a lot of fun by the looks of things. Some lovely gybing. Not at all surprised about the distance PB, you were just going and going! Since we hadn't heard from you I thought you might still be going... Cracked the 100 km milestone. Well done.

Congratulations X4!!!!

PS, do write us a bit of a story when you have recovered some energy, please.

Boz you will only be forgiven once!Yell Floggings occur from the 2nd offence!Wink

Awesome stuff Ben! Some great PBs there and I suspect more to come when you get down to Liptons at some stage Cool That Rotto ferry run from Wallyworld is tough because you run right through that patchy section behind the point. Much easier in consistent 25knots over at Melville or Peli. More wind today please!

A funny story - Boz and I had been chatting to Ben at PW. Ben zoomed off and Boz said "What team is he on?"

I said "ours!"

Sorry I didn't introduce you. I assume we all know each other.

Relieved to get over 35 knots again for the third time and some pb's to boot. The first was 7 years ago on a Bic Rap and the second was on borrowed gear. Must have been the new mast base, thanks Lao Shi.

Snake and Lunny that's an impressive NM through the chop. I was hoping for a good NM run behind the rotto ferry but I started right on it's tail and the ferry just isn't as fast as it used to be.

Congratulations Snake for the Lanno Podium!

Great to see a Anita and Boz at Point Walter, it gets lonely out there some days but it's a great spot when Melville gets a bit chaotic.

More days like that please :)
