2863 days ago Melville Beach, WA, AU 107 iSonic 6.6 Koncept 38 GW/21 Freedelta. Flat, gusty and slightly shifty when I first got out. Ken decided to come out and keep me company. Anita later rocked up and got on the water when it had picked up and become a little more bumpy but consistent. The goldwing was making me feel slightly over finned, so I popped in the delta and had a burn in the shallows. Really flat and cruisey. Delta seemed ok had 2 little spinouts and managed to getr one back under control (in saying that also had a spinout on the goldwing off teh wind earlier). Good fun all in all. Saw Ricey and Shaw had a yarn to them also.

A fun session cut short when most of me parted company with the board during an overpowered gybe but one leg remained strapped in. The Adductor muscles of the strapped in leg did not enjoy careering off by themselves at 21 knots and are still screaming in protest. A pity, because I was really enjoying myself in the powered up choppy conditions, and I was looking forward to putting a smaller fin on and going for some speed runs.
I may have to go back to my old self preservation tactic of not gybing when overpowered.
I was making progress with the gybe transitions today (on the whole) and I am pretty happy with the alpha - probably my best river alpha ever. It was the last gybe before I hurt myself.
It was good to catch up with a bunch of Pinnaroos - Ken, Gustenzo, Chris P, Cannonball, Shaw, Ricey. I hope you had a safer session than I did.

Super stoked today  after a dismal LOC race, everything felt right the KAR 6.3 felt powered up and got a great little gust to push the little Tabou Rocket passed the 40 mark, peak was 42.02 felt good, did not want to push it any further today even though the wind was filling in. Super happy with my first Naughty sailing into the bay.

Not the most comfortable sail with the wind constantly shifting between SSW and SW and gusty I might add. Tide was high so the sand bank was a bit choppy. Couldnt get much over 30 so gave up and went for runs out the back.
On upside seemed like half the team was down at Melville. Good to catch up with Chris, Tailwind, Cannonball, Gustenzo, Anita, Shaw, Opal, Charles, Jun Hao and others.

Great fun, the acceleration on that one fast run was huge, just got the lucky gust at the right moment I think. Found 2 of the rocks over at Pt Grey at reasonable speed so the fin needed a lot of sanding, surprising how well it still worked given the amount of damage it still has.
Great to say hi to Boz, and the local crew. Was too exhausted by the end, the mind kept going "one more run" and the body, particularly arms was saying NO! I think the gustiness made it harder work as you couldnt just hook in and hang on. Not being able to read the numbers on the gps display meant it was a pleasant surprise when I got back to the car and saw a 36, even more surprising that it stayed a 36 (just).

2863 days ago Pelican Pt hour challenge. Rigged for what looked epic, but it faded slowly at about 5:30 and soon became efficiency practise. Really great session today, didn't even get wet! No speed runs today, all just out and back in the slop. Pretty happy to see a 34.69 on the dial 
Aarrgh, just saw the hour. Guess I'll have to keep trying for that one. One of these days the planets will align for me...

2863 days ago 1 categories  Issues with GPS again not saving the file to the card. Formatting the card each time seemed to resolve the issue but not this time so unfortunately there is zero bites on the file.
34.4 was a lucky run through a gust in deep water but there was a 33.3 and a handful of 31's. Would have been nice to see the full results.
Sooo gusty today and the gusts weren't in the flat water spots making it a bit of a lucky dip.
