Woohoo some wind! Boombas with Boz and Ken, such a good spot. Not the flattest it could be with a high tide but still really good fun. Ive tried for a while to crack a 25 alpha and certainly didnt expect it today. Glad Nick and Ken got to visit for the first time.

Certainly felt like winter today. Wind was very up and down so distance wasn't great. Conditions looked good when I chose the 7 meter sail but I could have done with a bigger sail a lot of the time. Still good to hit the water.

Got off work by noon and was indecisive on whether to go to Melville or Boombas for the first time. Went down to Melville to have a look and saw half the guys grovel around in the chop so decided to go on a road trip. Got down to Boombas at 2pm to meet Lunny and Boz and saw the vastness of the place. Went out to look for some super flat spots in the middle but ended up doing runs close the the shore. Also got in a bit of gybe practise and felt more comfortable gybing the mistral than last time. Went for one NM at the end at the same time looking at my watch to maintain the speed.  Glad I went for the drive. good call Captain!Cool

First time at Boombas, Lunny the madman holding onto the 7 sail while I chickened out to a 5.3 Freeride Koyote. Started on the 6.3, dropped down to the 5.7 but this was a mistake sail didn't feel right, finally the freeride hit the spot and the best speed but was buggered by this time so a nice casual sail to finish the day. Great little spot good company with Lunny and Ken will be back.

Melville Beach, Mistral 112, KAR 7.1, 33 lockwood weedy. FINALLY a sail, seemed likes forever since the last one. Got there during some gusts (around 2:30 I think) and then it glassed off while rigging, was ok most of the time (plodding or planing, still TOW).

First try with the GW60 (gt31 was in my car and didnt come back).  Was fiddling on the water and trying to find out what the time was so not sure I didnt reset it or something. Only seems to have "some" of the session but will try and check that. Probably should read the manual, was so keen to get on the water I forgot to turn it on at first Smile

Top speed on the watch showed 30.24 but KA72 rounded it down, not actually a problem for todays numbers but a bit odd. Also notice no hour showing but was on the water for more than 2 I think.

Great to say hi to a few people, some I hadnt seen for ages, hopefully a post coming from him but the sun was setting and he was still out there so maybe hes still going now.

Little after work sesh at Melville.

Mistral 137 + 8.4 TR8 + 42 Vector Slalom Weed.

Set-up was about right for the patchy conditions, never got really lit, but some nice cruisey runs across the bay.

First winter sail at Melville for me since 2014.  Damn it's nice to be back in Perth, even in a patchy winter Nor'Wester Cool

Great stuff Craig, you beat all my pb's in one day. Boombas is great, been wishing I was there all day but work is full on for another couple of weeks.

Catch up with you in July I hope.

Good job Lunny. Is it rude to ask for a track? I've never sailed Boombas before.

Well done team! Your performance and PBs have made my day (Still at work after an 8.30 start and likely to be here for another hour). Big improvement in our scores for the month - Pinnaroos into fourth spot!

I am glad Boombas made the trip worthwhile and that some of you are still reading my emails.

Exceptional numbers all round, Lunny! Did you think Fangy had a Boombas fangtastic 5 trophy up for grabs? Those numbers are impressive for any location on any day, and the alpha, sensational! Congratulations!

Ken, well done on the alpha and nm PBs. I know you have been after that alpha PB for a long time. Always pushing the limits.

Cannonball, thanks for the backup!

Looking forward to Boz' post. he didn't break anything today did he?

Edit - great backup Boz, super distance and nm, and full marks for persistence - 3 sail changes! A pity you didn't really find your speed groove but very handy backup for Lunny and Ken, and the more, the merrier.

Wish I could have been there with you...

Did you get much rain?

Great numbers Lunny and others, I was still at work at 1:30 so figured I didnt have time to drive too far.

Just checked in realspeed and log from watch is only the last 45 minutes. will need to read that manual I guess. It does seem to start and finish on the beach so not sure what thats about. I guess the 5hz logging means you need 15 points over 30 to get that , I only had around 5 so only 1 sec. Never did understand that 2 second including 3 points Smile
