Kenny (16394km): Melville Beach, WA, AU Was quite overpowered for most of the time when the 25-30 knot SW came through until it turned south and dropped off completely. By that time had enough of the cold so called it a day. Few others out but it seemed AUS 14 was the only one enjoying himself. 5.5 tr7, futura 97, 31 tribal ws.
Lunny (42007km): Peel Inlet, WA, AU What a great day at Liptons. Just Boz and I for hours then Mike, Paul and Bob came down. Some belter gusts came through which made for some interesting wrestling with the beast to avoid take off. A little damage to the fin box due to thumping an unfortunate creature, not once but twice!, luckily not at flat out speed. Sorry creature, I didnt mean to hit you. Had to leave excitedly to pick up a lovely birthday gift that my dear wife got me, a windfoil Yep the standard has been set "well lunnies wife bought him one!" Go on guys, I dare ya! Great day to be breathing, even if it was cold and rainy. M91, Reflex6 6.2, Tribal ws 27
Boz (44086km): Peel Inlet, WA, AU Cold and Wet but wouldn't have it any other way, Lunny, Mike, Paul all ventured out in a epic session, several near launches to the sky for Lunny and myself got the blood pumping but great fun. Bloody Lunster decides to do a nautical mile so had no choice but to follow the madman accross the channel, some very close calls and airbourne on a couple of larger chop. Was survival on a couple runs but tide did start to recede and made conditions slightly better. What a great day to sail with some great people. Well done Lunster fully deserved that huge 40 in the conditions of today my hats off to you.
Pointman (25840km): Melville Beach, WA, AU M137 + 7.6 TR9 + 42 CF Well after watching the wind blow frothy whitecaps on the Swan all day at work, I arrived to near calm at Meville at 4pm and a deserted carpark. There were a few bullets coming through, so rigged the big Mistral and 7.6. Suited up in my new steamer, where the eff is the zip?? Doh, I'd put the damn thing on backwards After repeating the ritual once more I was warmed up and ready to roll, but there was no wind. Waited for a dark patch of cloud to descend and got in a couple of powered up runs before it shut down. Couldn't feel my hands 10 minutes in, damn it was cold! |
