Foreshore Rd, Botany, NSW, AU 10-25kt NW || 121 Carve 7.0 Titan 42 Drake

Gusty and very up/down, but this did allow though for the water to completely flatten out during the lulls, so whenever a gust hit it was a nice flat water blast. Primbee looking good on the charts today, looking forward to seeing how things went down there...

Primbee, NSW, AU || W 18-40kts || 95 Rocket, Reflex 5.6, 22

A classic Primbee day! Sunny with the usual 20-30 minute lulls, but otherwise it was mostly just intense, dark bullets vaping the wave crests into white mist. The tide was dangerously low. It was down in the morning, but by 3 or 4 in the arvo sailing inside the log was out of the question with a 22cm.

And I'm extremely impressed with my new Reflex 5.6. Draft stability during the biggest of gusts was unwavering. Deep, deep off the wind is where it really shone. It just kept accelerating and I was only limited by the serious lack of water underneath me.

And the Rocket? Well, forget that it's called a freeride board. Even at 95ltrs it never felt too big even in the most monserterous of gusts. They're really special boards.

I always love visiting Primbee. So many great people to hang with - too many to mention - but Tiges gets a special mention. Great to see you mate and thanks for checking in with me. Much appreciated. Hoping to do it all again with you blokes tomorrow.

What a hoot!

Yeah, it's a great spot, Steve, but since moving to Woolooware it's 2 1/2 hours to Budgie versus 45 minutes to Primbee. Will get back up there one day though.
