Quibray Bay, Kurnell, NSW, AU 20-30kt W || 118 Manta 5.0HSM 44 T-Lab

A chance to suss out Quibray in a decent westerly. Pretty decent wind strength, plus a rising tide, so quite choppy, especially out in the middle. Western side quite flat but major patchy due to shelter of the mangroves there. Best runs were along the eastern edge, with a few oyster covered rocks to dodge just below the surface. Scraped a few times over them. Tough gybing conditions so was pleased to pull off half a dozen without falling off. It was a nice session but all in all not the ideal conditions to sail there, would rather it in a moderate SWer with some larger gear.

Isonic Speed W54, 6.2 Overdrive, Delta 19.  Originally I was going to try and crack the 20 knots on the one hour and rigged and 7.0 overdrive with a Patrick 92 and was going quite well however at the half hour mark the wind just kept picking up and couldn't hold the 7.0m anymore.  Great day sailing with all the local crew.  Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Foreshore Rd, Botany, NSW, AU || 18-27 WSW

RS3/ Koncept 6.2/ Sonntag 35 also a few runs with Artur's RS2 and Sonntag 32

Wrong location, wasted some good wind, too much from the South. Between swell coming in, huge gusts, confused chop everywhere it was a battle to keep in control, had to stop every couple of runs. I felt inadequate, but Artur told me it was hard for him too, so that made me feel a bit better... Smile

Encouraging to see we have some hardy souls flying the DD flag in these cold westerlies.

One of the windiest winters on record I think.

Thanks for all the comments Gents.  It was good to sail with you Johnny tried to catch you a couple of times but fell well short, good vibe as per usual at Budgy.  Need a bit more practice on the speed board.  NE on Monday hope to be at our local.
