Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Decided to head to Liptons straight after work for the morning. Was the only one there till Greg showed up for the arvo shift then a very undecided Hardie was rigging as i left.

Some good gusts to be had but the high tide and chop took more potential away.

Funny how the first few runs felt so draggy compared to the foil.

First time at this spot where friendly locals shared their tips on weed, crabs and stingrays. Was under powered most of the time but enjoyed the flat and turns. Manta 88 NPV8 6.7 wp25

Great to get out with some solid breeze. Was pretty gusty and wind was dropping off. Good to see Boz out milking the conditions and Woody showed up after his session at Coodanup.

Pelican Point, WA, AU

Arrived at Pelican Point about 2 pm and looked windy. Rigged up a 6.3 Ka Race, 64 cm WindTech with 32 cm proto fin.

The runs upwind were nicely powered and I restrained myself from bearing off in the gusts. Great discipline.

But when I arrived at Point Walter for a few runs the wind dropped to a gusty 5 to 20 knots and wherever I sailed the gusts seemed to be somewhere else.

Tried to get some runs but eventually gave up and headed back to Pelican. Somewhere near Majestic point I got an ok run amongst the yacht chop.

Frustrating sail but great exercise.

Fun little mission down to Liptons. Got down there at 11:30 and Craig already had 60 kays on the clock Embarassed

It looked fresh, and Lunny recommended the medium sized board, so I rigged the M112 + 7.0 TR9 + 33 Tribal WS combo.

Had a great sail.  I thought I'd finally managed a 25K+ alpha, cos they felt hell fast, which they were.  Unfortunately they were also hell wide!  I had a 25.3 @ 65m Yell

Nice to get on the board for May, cos April was a complete non-event!

Well done Craig, good speedsCool, had those numbers in my mind to chase down, but didn't have the fitness to stay out.  Fitness is probably an under-estimated ingredient in speed sailing. Cool

Welcome to the GPSTC Neil, I hope you enjoy yourself despite the low-down thievin' border crossing scumbags that make up your team.

Oh and nice PB Mark, good to meet you today. I will let poor effort on the toll gate today pass, just bring doughnuts  and a tray of Flat Whites next time. Probably a couple of nice blouses for Fairiebob and Swindy would go down a treat too. (size XXXXL) Laughing

Steady on Fangy. You've got it all wrong about JJ. It's low-down thieven' border crossin' scumbag. Not crossing..

Thanks for the welcomes and comments guys. Good to finally be part of it. JJ made me do it.... I've got a black eye to prove it!Wink

Great work, team! some very healthy numbers there. Good to see us on the board for May and near the top. I am glad some of us had the day off work, or most of it at least.

Congratulations to Neil on 6 PBs - many more to come I am sure - but remember, in this game, bearing away is GOOD.

Super alpha Woody - especially considering the lack of practice lately!

Pointman -  Well done on a good all round session, and congratulations on top speed of the day!

Lunny - 6 jellybeans and the solid allround performance we have come to expect. Thank you for your continued effort.

Jeff - glad you managed to get some time off work!

Cannonball - good to see the newlywed on the water and nice work on the hour jellybean in gusty frontal conditions and CONGRATULATIONS on your wedding on the weekend!
