2148 days ago 1st sail of the year under the bridge, StG river.
Just a few out, Rob, Greg and a few others in the distance who left before I came in.
iSonic 90L did the job, with Georgio's repaird VMAX 4 select 33-2cm fin. few more spin-outs than before the modification.
TRX 6.3 was rarely too small, and in the biggest gusts, way too big. It literally pushed me into the water backwards while trying to de-power, and one run I could NOT bare off before the sand bar due to the wind and swell, so fell in and drifted. Not my finest.
BUT, drama aside, WOW what a way to start the year! Heard the pitta-patta of 30+ kts through the bermuda triangle/washing machine which was super flat, and a few long runs along swell lines were awesome, oh and the sand bar was working, perfectly flat for 100s of metres and decently windy, but 1 shadow unfortunately (the old navy boat maybe).
Few long runs too, in both directions, but George's river ain't no Primbee... so no 30kt NM :(
Big thanks to Rob for the loaner harness, no lines broken!, but my back is sore now.
