Started out in the bay but that wasn't much so went to the East Inlet to have a look. Ran into Cookie and Ben, decided to rig and have a go in the third channel. Had an hour or so to myself but was never powered up. 7m OD, 90L Isonic with 27cm Tribal WS.

2148 days ago 2 categories   Stanley, West Beach, A very late sail after tea. I have wanted to try West Beach at low tide in an Easterly for a while. Went there with Ben and got on the water after 8.30pm. Just rigged the one lot of gear and sent Ben out there to suss it out. I had a go just on dark. Should be a good place for a 1 Hr and a Nm. and be able to sail 1.5 Nm each way, it's shallow in close and a haven for stingrays and skates.

Couple of opportunities in Stanley today. First sail was East inlet in around 20 knots , first channel is super flat.
After tea and herb bread at the pub moved on to West Beach in an Easterly/Low tide. Seemed dangerous at times.. off shore wind and a lot of nothing but blue water to the West.
Had a couple of runs and handed over to Cookie, Not sure how long the runs were but I think there is potemntial here to go 3km in each direction... very interesting. Some shallow looking stuff and a million rays diving in every direction. Love trying new spots!
Cant thank Cookie enough for lending me some gear.. picking me up and dropping me off.. your a bloody legend mate.
