Well that really booted-in this arvo. Mega chop/waves at Peli so it was quite a thigh burner!

Windfoil, Foilville/Majestic Point WA

Bit of a difference from yesterday. Gusty wind and lumpy. A bit too wild for a foil but good practice.

Great to see some familiar faces out there.

Memorable moment was dragging a poor fellas rig back to the shallows. Not sure how he lost it just saw him paddling out deep. I checked he was ok then went and tied his rig to my rear foot strap for the slow treck back. A good reminder how useful it is to have 4-5m of rope tucked away somewhere. Not the first time its come in handy and I'm sure he's grateful to have the rig back.

Nice little sunset session on the Cruise Missile down at Peli after work. Little underdone on the 7.0 Loft but nice cruisy sail to clear the cobwebs.

Well that kicked in harder then expected. More of that please. Good to see so many out enjoying these early strong seabreezes.

Nice sea breeze for October. Good to see Anita, Woody and Tim out talking up the wind. The 7.1m was the right choice, might have rigged it a tad flat. Best 2 sec speed was at Wally World, just remember the signs are out for Fairy Turn nesting season so try to avoid landing on the end of the sand bar. Where was the Rotto ferry???

What a lot of fun that was! So good to be powered up for once. I ended up cranking on the outhaul, but I held on and had heaps of fun in the process, aside from being attacked by a flying board and sail (someone elses) that flattened me and broke a batten on my sail. Lucky that was the worst of the damage. Somehow I ended up with a 44 knot peak on the GPS. I think that must have been my acceleration when the sail hit me.

So good to catch up with a big crew of Pinnaroos, Cannonball,  Lunny, Flatchat, Woody, and Pacey, many who I had not seen in a long time.

Thanks again to Lunny for wearing his cape when out on the water.

When I ventured into the shallows I spotted a witches hat mounted in a plastic box on the sand bar. Just the top 2 inches of teh withes hat was sticking out. Red triangle is the chanel flags, blue circle is where the submerged witches hat is. Somebody let Boz know before he smashes his board on it.

Lunny to the rescue again (must be in the job description) with great backup from Woody, who towed the sail for the second half of the journey, Lunny being able to get over the sand bar wth his foil.

Congratulations Ben, on Pinnaroo speed of the Day, my 44 knots must have inspired you to go out for more...

Lucky you didn't get hurt Anita! Was it the sail that Lunny towed in?

no, the sail that hit me was still attached to the board. It was the fin I was worried about, but luckily it was just the sail that hit me
