AlfaMale (19018km): Great day of racing foils at Kurnell, Thanks to the Cat Club! 4 rounds in 10 knot (brief lull's behind land) to 25kt gusts in the middle of the bay. Swell was managable at worst 30cm. FMX91, SB900 and Phantom 9.0 was the right choice. 8.0 stayed on the beach and would have only worked in the last race, but probably not in the lulls downwind. Pretty good day, within 1-5s of all the starts, but often lost a bit of angle in dirty air off the line. There was one session I noticed a bunch of about 5 pointing a few degrees higher than me, and another bunch pointing lower but going faster and I was kind of languishing in the middle. Only real mistake was pinching to the upwind mark (maybe 3rd race), breaching in a gust, survived, but lost the critical 20m downwind, so had to double tack. Then in my haste... tacked too early and missed the mark anyway. urgh. at least 4 sails went past (It was probably my best upwind leg until then... and I would have made the mark too!!!>>> GRRR). After the 4th race I decided to do a few slalom runs for fun. Nailed a laydown with the sail at 30 degree's (not zero like slalom---yet!) felt AWESOME! but my camera ran out of battery so no proof! Very tired and stiff now! The distance doesn't do racing effort justice.

Remi Dunoyer (24497km): Kyeemagh, NSW, AU FMX 118 - Loftsails 7.7 - 38 fin Tour of the bay, saying hello to the foil round 5 racing crew up in Kurnell. Exploring the bay makes the local spot (ust out of the servo) a pretty easy/"flat" spot ;) Wind never filled in as per forecast but still some good fun with Bossman touring around. | ||||||||||||||||||
George (32558km): Lake George, SA, AU || 20-25 SE JP Slalom IV 70 lts/ Koncept 5.7 Speed/ Fangy Budgi Speed 18 & Patrik95/ Fangy 21 Speed great day, launched from the spit, used the Patrik with the 5.7 until the wind picked up. Both fins very solid and the budgy 18 going over the floating weeds like they weren't there.
