Boundary Island, Peel Estuary, WA, Au

Super fun Session in the Chook pond with Woody,Jim and chris. The strongest of the wind blew itself out overnight but saved enough for the first light sail.Made the wrong fin selection so was under finned on the 20 DWS which made it tricky in the chop..Plenty of power on the 5.4 NX in the gusts and 53 Patrick.Loving this winter sailing :)

Arrived at sunrise to 30-40knots and great direction. Flex, Slowy, Antman soon arrived too. Got into the pond as the last of the hugh squalls finished so we had the remaining decent bullets but not as strong as what we arrived to. I thought sunrise would have been early enough?  Got some pbs, but odd ones like 41.30 100m, 42.08peak, 40.63 10sec, and 4*2sec 40+. A fun session. Noticed a big difference in speeds going into the chop from the flat. Video shows this.  JP50 Evo12 CLwp23. A great combo today.

Coodanup, WA, AU. Arrived dawn with Woody, Antman and Slowboat.  Water was high so went with big fin on medium board.  Wind was definitely strongest at the start and chuffed to get PB on 2nd run.  Never got close to this speed until near the end.   Slowboat then Woody left and the sun came out and wind picked up a bit and had another good hr or so.  Antman pulled pin and I considered going on when my outhaul broke.  Decided to call it quits, roughed fixed the outhaul and it broke again at the worst spot far from land.  Gave up tring to fix it in the swell and dragged the kit back to the van.   Went home, charged GPS, had a shower, fixed the outhaul and thought would try Melville.  Wind was cranking when arrived then died a bit so rigged 6.7.  Then wind completely died and the foilers were having trouble so rigged 7.8 whilst Reg watched on.  Of course as soon as went out the wind kicked back in big time I was totally smashed..crashed in the deep bit and made a dogs breakfast getting going again.  Came in and since I was now in summer shorty wetsuit, lost the motivation to do a rig change and keep going.  In hindsight should have fixed outhaul at the pond and stayed there.    5.7 RRD Move, 104 RRD Freeride/Wave, 33TWS

Great backup Ant! We moved up a spot in both 2 sec and 5X.

I wish I could have joined you. Today was the day for the right wind strength, direction and tide, but I am still sore after 30 km on Sunday Frown

Great job Woody and Antman and nice sailing with you...plus Slowy of course.  Super inspiring.   Nice vid Woody,  for some reason despite fully charging both Gopro's yesterday one was dead at start and the other died really early so only got a tiny bit of footage..not sure if worth sharing but will see.

Well done to all you young fellas, especially Flex with a big leap in two PB's.  Fingers crossed that the ornithologists don't get too narky as the Pond seems to be the place to go quick.  I watched the Olympics and kept my thermal stability intact.

Whilst it was a good day on the pond it was a lowsy film session.  As mentioned I thought I had two goPro's charged and ready but only one made it to the pond and that died early.  This video pretty much all the footage I got. GoPro convieniently died for all the epic squalls and runs.   If you make it to 1:30 you can skip the rest as just my worst run to pad to the music.  For the record the squall recorded on Woody's video was when my camera died.  I was next to Slowy at that point (opening scene) and he only launched when the squall hit..plus completed the run.....starting to understand why he always wears glasses .....was blinding rain for us other three just standing still.    https://youtu.be/kz4UpZqwjB4
