Nelson Harbour foiling without GPS - Second session. RF81 + StarboardGT + HSM 6.6. Wind 10 to 13knots and dropping.....

I took a while to decide to go out as the wind was light. With my slalom 'eyeometer' it was too light to bother with 7.8 and 110l board.

I went out and to my surprise got up in the air with some pumping. I hooked into the harness during the session, but found I was too close to the sail (30inch lines which I would consider long for me) or perhaps boom too high, need some more TOW to test this.

With the wind dropping I found I could get up with LOTS of pumping, then glide/splash/glide/spash my way across the harbor before tacking and having a rest before the next gust came and I repeated the process.  It was good exercise that is for sure. So far the RF81 is really safe on the touch downs and I have not been thrown over the handle bars....I guess that will come when I'm more powered up.
