Albany, WA, AU 54 Manta, 16 tribal delta, 5.4K

I felt a lot more balanced today but still not as balanced as I would like to be.  I was getting over 30 kn quite regularly on the speed runs so I thought it was worthwhile tackling the nm run today. I actually had enough energy to do two ( generally one nm does me in!), but my second attempt was too far into the weed which slowed me down a lot.

Very pleased to have the energy and control for a backup session today, as I can rarely sail two days in a row. My speed is less than I would like but it is my best 2 sec since 9 th Feb last year, and my best nm since 6th Feb last year. What a good week that was! ... then I broke a rib crashing at 36 kn which put me off the water for a while, and then I contracted a nasty virus this time last year which put paid to last summer's sailing, and I am really only just getting over the long term effects of it.

A much better day today, not only speed wise, but the sun was out, it was warmer,  a good posse of Pinnaroos and others on the water, and waterfront accommodation is the best! Worth driving over 800km for.

Albany, WA, AU Another fun sesh with a good group, the KAR6.3 took a beating with a mice hole through the bottom panel, all it meant was I got to rig the 5.5 KAR the favourite of all my sails, all speeds NM on the 5.5 Manta 54 KAR 5.5

Another great day at Albany. Sad to be heading back to reality tomorrow. The Pinorroos scored well this trip. Good to have Woody down for the day and keep Boz on his toes. Cant wait for the nxt trip down here.

An early start today. Tried the 7.4 and Manta 66 and 22wp until the wind came in so trie the same rig on the manta 61. More enjoyable without any spinout. Tried a few alpha on that combo and saw 26 so thought changing to the Falcon 56 may be worthwhile. The 7.4 was too heavy for the 56 so rigged the 6.6 and saw a little more success. Much better combo. Tried an hour after 95km. Certainly harder at the end of the session. Top day with a good turnout of pinnas and good to see Waricle blasting and Morts after a long winter.

Walpole Inlet, WA

Late afternoon session on the inlet at Walpole - choppy and bumpy ride so no flat spots to be had. WindTech 72 SB with 7.8 Loft RB & 38cm pointer. Not sure if I'd recommend this spot (off Coalmine beach) due to the hectic chop produced by the E/SE breezes.

Well done Anita, you're back!  Woody Mark will have to watch out but he has topped the Nm and Alphas for this month so far so, as you say, who's backing him up?  Not me for one!

Friggin brilliant everyone down in Albany!  Anita, you're back! Richo, you've arrived and I (and we) can tell there's more and better to come.  Boz, you old fart, you were threatening that huge muscle bound Woody in allcategories, keep going!  Ant, brilliant NM PB and overall red hot performance.  You were all legends on the day and looking at your efforts in comparison with the best in the world, you're right up there. Fantastic! We just need some proper 25/30knot wind like some of the other teams have had, and that'll show 'em!

Well done, team, on a great team mission to Albany, and especially, thanks for coming! Despite some really strong winds over east we are just one point behind first place, and hold top spot for nm, distance and (wait for it) the hour!!!! (our most neglected category) Yay!

Thanks Boz for oganising accommodation, and for your unlimited enthusiasm and skill, which is an example to all - and just a shade off Woody's speeds (and all that). Good to see you score a second best nm today. You were certainly giving it your all.

Woody, your enthusiasm to do Albany as a day trip is insane, but an inspiration to all. You excel all round. Thanks for taking up the hour challenge today, and very well done on a top 5 hour after 95km of sailing. Woody, you thought I was going for an hour? I wish! I struggle to gybe in wind of that strength let alone link an hour's worth of them! I thought Boz and Ant were going for the hour, but  the nm run was too much of a draw for them. Luckily Cannonball went for a repeat of yesterday and provided some handy backup. Ben is very happy to still have an hour jellybean.

Cannonball, another solid all round session from you today. Four top 5 results out of the last two days for you, including a PB nautical mile today. Great sailing!

Congratulations Ant on another nautical mile PB today, another enthusiast who has been inspired by the consistent wind and flat water Albany has to offer. You just keep getting better and better Ant, with 2 PBs and a second best alpha (by a tiny smidge) in the last two days. Love your manic enthusiasm!

Richo has made the trip very worthwhile with 11 top 5 results from two sessions, including 5 PBs and some very competitive results. Great sailing! I am sure your enthusiasm has been wetted, and there will be a lot more big numbers to come from you.

Dan interesting place you sailed, did you try to get down to the mouth of the inlet next to the ocean? Looks like a few speed runs possible, wouldn’t want to get stuck down there though as it looks like a long swim😉
