1024 days ago Another early morning foil mission on the Swan.
I rigged in green arrows, but launched to yellow, so I was a bit underdone on the 800 wing + 7.0 M3 combo.
Still managed to find a few nice puffs, and had a lovely cruise.
No unforeseen groundings today, the ENE direction kept me well away from the freeway side of the river.

I probably missed the best of the wind today while I was having a recovery nap. By the time I got on the water the wind was gusty and much weaker than yesterday. I would have been happy with a 34 today but could only get 32s. I spent quite a bit of time making tuning adjustments, - mostly to harness lines - I was over sheeting. I think I would have gone faster yesterday had I realised that then.
As I was making no progress with speed I thought I would come in and change to a bigger board for some alpha practice. Did the wind pick up while I was off the water? Certainly seemed like it, and Ronnie scored a 38 while I was changing boards. Bad timing!
My board turned so fast on the first gybe it caught me quite by surprise and I missed catching the sail. second attempt was the PB gybe. Still plenty of room for improvement. The next alpha was a 17 and then the wind dropped right off, so much so that we thought we would have to walk the boards back. Ronnie couldn't get his going at all, and this was only 15 minutes after scoring a 38! I decided to call it quits at that point as my legs were feeling fatigues anyway - it is most unusual for me to sail two days in a row but my body felt pretty good.
Whoo hoo an alpha PB - the last was Jan 2019. I am back!

Nice little session at Lilacs before the long drive back to the big smoke. No PBs today regrettably but can't complain after the trifecta I scored yesterday. Hope Ant got some good runs in after I left. Great couple of days down there and great bunch of enthusiastic sailors to hang out with. Thanks Jim for the spin in the Tesla. Wow!! I'll be sure to bring my G-Suit next time!!
Good breakfast too Woody at Kates place in town. A nice way to start the day and ponder the meaning of life!! Catch you all another time.
