698 days ago Coodanup, WA, AU Finally some wind! Went out on the 97 board but seemed enough for the 86 so switch to that. All the usual suspects out plus a couple of river rats Paul and Daryl turned up to play. iSonic 86, KAR 7, FF18V4

Heaps people out warm up sesh for tomorrow, used the 88L AV today to get a feel of the board as I’ve only sailed it previous for 30min, today was a good day to put it through its pace.

Possibly more gusty than normal; weedy and shallow over the sandbank even with a delta fin.
Short session but enjoyable, happy with the alpha for me

698 days ago Pinnaroo Point with Dyno 105 and Gator 5.5. Wind was ~19Knots intitialy and I was underpowered and then it picked up to 21knots towards the end of the session . Avergage windspeed 20 knots. average gust 22.4 knots.
Hit more than 2/3 of the gybes out there in the Pinnaroo washing machine. The muscle memory is starting to kick in.

698 days ago Fun foil out of Foilville.
Looked pretty fresh, so rigged the 725 wing + 6.0 + Patrik 91.
Breeze booted in after 5, with gusts to 27K, so I was overcooked for large parts of the sesh.
Felt fast on the water, but basically in survival mode when the big gusts hit.
Tacked up to Melville for some flat and had a fun hour or so doing laps fully lit.
Happy not to crash for a change, and no gear broken today, so that's a win

Had a great sail today. The wind booted in late and I managed to get some decent scores.

Mixed feelings about this session. Lots of sailors out enjoying themselves on the water.
I thought I would start out with alphas today and was generally unhappy with my results - couldn't get the transitions happening smoothly today. I might have to go back to the 85 sonic. Still KA 72 tells me it was my best ever alpha for this location, so can't be too unhappy with that. Peak speed in the alpha was 24.4 on the inward leg and 24.9 on the outward leg.
After giving up on the alphas I thought I would try for speed but struggled to get over 30 kn. The wind picked up and I was struggling with the 6.2 so I headed in, but I still had plenty of energy left and so I changed down board, fin and sail, and moved to the other end of Coodanup where the late crew were still sailing. Kai came in just as I was heading out but Ant and Cannonball were still on the water for company. I wanted to do another 20km, and to improve my speed. I had many runs with 30 on the dial but struggled to get over that. I just seem to have forgotten how to go fast. 31.5 was the best I coud do. Ben and I sailed until the sun dropped below the horizon. I ended up with what I thought would be my best distance for 2 years, but it turns out it is my best distance since 2017!
Thanks for the compnay, Ben!

Great way to spend boxing day with a bunch of happy sailors. Warm, steady wind and great company. Was really enjoying that as people started to leave so thanks Anita for sailing through to sunset to make the most of it. Tried for an hour, got a bit greedy and beached myself in the shallows. Second time around the wind had picked up towards the end so just tried to avoid stacking it whilst having a play.
Great day on the greens.

698 days ago Pelican Point - Wind picked up from 18 to 20 kn when I arrived and picked up 2-3 kn during the late afternoon but the problem was I was feeling a bit sluggish after the Christmas eat-fest and the long break and was then compounded by rigging up a new sail. I wasn't enjoying the experience but Tom came over and gave me some help setting it up, which made it heaps better so will be better prepared next time. Severne Mach4 6.2/AV108/34 Powermax

Another great day…all the usual suspects out in force! Was over cooked with a 6.5 severne turbo so came in and changed to a 5 ncx, much more manageable. Once again some really helpful coaching from Waricle, wish I’d gone faster but hey, always room for improvement! 😀
