Windxtasy (14483km): Albany, Lilacs. A bit more wind today but very gusty and ENE, so the nm run was very square to the wind, and the shallow end was in a wind shadow. Surprisingly similar numbers to yesterday. Felt more powered up but obviously not enough. Muscles very fatigued right from the start. It is a long time since I have sailed 100 + km in two days, if ever. Very weary now.
fingers (1197km): Albany day trip today, wind not very strong early morning, with low tide, late morning around 11-30 am to 12 wind picked up and sop did the tide i was able to get up to the nautical mile today for the first time , first run not great, second run the wind picked up to 25 knots with stonger gusts i scared the shit out of my self as the chop was around 10 inches to a foot high, Rondog said he saw me coming and was hoping i did not come off still a good day even if we had to pack up early because of the fast incoming tide
Finback (1421km): Albany 8.6m was a little bit of a challenge at 1st. Then the wind kicked in and I got more comfortable after a few adjustments. Ron Dog was smashing it, being the top dog he is. My Dad, I was more surprised with how the old bugger made it up wind. Then, he sent it twice down the NM in choppy conditions. Super stoked and proud of the silly old bugger.
Snickers (14756km): ![]() Albany, WA, AU Last minute decision to head to Albany for a sail. Forecast looked too good. On the water about 2pm, most people had called it a day due to high tide. Flex's drone dropped in out of nowhere to keep me company a few times. Tide was bit high but that's the most wind I've sailed in at Albany that I can remember. Best speeds at rushy point end. Most of the session was on the mistral speed 47w with 25ws. Tried the mistral 91 slalom with 29ws but the wind had dropped a bit. Decided to call it so I could drive home and the wind booted in again. Would have been interesting to try the mistral112 powered up over the chop but it's in the shed dehydrating. reflex 6.2. |
