679 days ago Fangyland with a big mob. Old Missy Flow 284 FF22. On the 'little' board and decided to go for some alphas today. Missed every one of them! But had fun trying and pretty happy with the speeds on a reach entering the gybes. Next level however, I am absolutely stoked to see Hardie's PB, GO Joe, awesome buddy!!!

Happy to report there was no issues driving to Liptons, Parking at Liptons or Driving home today.
Got there Hardz was well happy with 41.9 on the dial (rightly so) so I rigged pretty much the same as yesterday and headed over to Pt Grey unfortunately when Hardz got of the water the wind went with him as the best I could achieve was 32.
But that was the least of my worries (you weren't foolish enough to think everything was well in this session?) first run set the tone for the session Into my first run saw a ray, then promptly sailed over two of them the first one decided to take off under my board and in the process it's wing (thankfully just the wing) hit me in the back of my leg.
Sailed back after that as the wind wasn't all that good to wait it out till it picked up again, chatted with Hardz a bit more till wind filled in a touch more.
Did 4 more runs over on Pt Grey each time seeing the winged ones, decided to flag it agfter doing my last run were I sailed within 5m of a packed of 6 of them, way to many out there.
So backed to base, as I started to pack up the wind picked back up again oh well it was fun for what it was.
Congrats Hardz on the PB.

679 days ago Another fun fangy session, even if the wind died when Slugger changed down to his speed board.
I'd rigged for the windblowing when I arrived, and that was gusting to 30kts, I think slugger dropped it by a good 5kts, but I went out anyway, with the 5.2speed an 48cm board, with a small 16cm@50d weedy. This worked OK in the gusts, but was a pain in the lulls. So as an experiment changed to the 20cm @ 40/60, as the tide was quite high. but the speed runs still took me through some fairly thick weed and the extra drag on this fin was very noticeble. So back in for the trusty PB 18@55 this had enough area and grunt to be good upwind, and enough rake to still be slippery in the weed.
My speeds were slowly improving as the wind started to pick up again, when the old camelbak lost one of it's straps, and became a major problem. So silly me called it, instead of just dumping the offending article and going back out. Because it just kept picking up. I should have waited until I was too overpowered to go faster.
I think the better sailors that stayed out will have 40s
Really nice to catch up with Sam!!!!! But I had recieved a call from Home, and had to hurry away
