My last session for 2009 so much fun! Port Phillip Bay once more, this time a decent Northerly so I launched from Green Point instead of Elwood. This time I had the right gear for the job, so was on my 93 S-Type and 5.0 North Infinity wave sail. Wind was up around the high 25's and while it was a bit gusty it was more consistent than it can be. Had a great time blasting back and forward, I think I definately prefer the S-Type powvered up on a small sail than loaded with the 6.6m. Last week was the first time I got to try some GPS sailing back in Melbourne, it's really interesting to see the speed differences not only in location but also with wind direction.

Congratuations again on the PBs.

Will they start drying up soon or can you keep improving?

Hi Karl, we should see some more PBs come up. We are still waiting for some stronger wind and we are refining our sailing. Jeff has bought a new board and is still getting used to it, and I have bought a second hand board to see if I can extract some more speed. Feel free to courier some new boards to us by way of donation Smile

Unfortunately it felt a bit light yesterday and I could have used my bigger board and probably got the same or better speeds. I am impressed by the guys getting 31's in the 2sec peaks, so we will just keep plugging away.

Safety Bay is a sometimes a bit choppy, so we might have a look around and see if there are any other spots worth a sail.

Take it easy Keef, don't bugger your hand up for the sake of a windsurfing session.

Dale and Jeff, a trip down the coast may be in order. Around Mandurah or further down there are lakes and inlets. The Mandurah Mob post of the 31st covers a few spots where there is flat water. Dunno about couriering boards over. Most boards here would be a bit big for the windy days there.

Hi Karl, I have read about the runs down the coast and in particular Hardie's run. It sounds a little bit shallow for my tastes and I will see how we go. We are more likely to try out the river and maybe up the coast to see what we can find.

Boards too big? My biggest board here is a 135L and I think that's okay for about 25 knots.
