Hey Guys,

It was bit light on Botany. I got a new board to teach the wife and family... A Starboard Go circa 99. I got it out in the light wind and spent most of the time sailing it. It is a fantasitic board for what it is. I had much more fun than I expected. It is so easy to sail and so cruisy. Anyway using my 6.2 with that, I was plaining consistantly in 10-15. Then when it picked up later, I swapped boards to the JP FSW 92. Not really enough wind for it, but got one descent gust to get a reasonable 2 sec. About to go out and try again today!!

Cheers,

Adrian

Thanks Keef, but 'hanging on to that 7.5' wasn't as bad as you think. I do weigh 103kgs and a 6.6m would have been okay most of the time, it would have been a bit too light in some of the lulls.

I started on a 115L S-type and only took that out so that I could compare it against my 115L Thommen which I moved the footstrap inserts around on. The S-Type used to be better than the Thommen, but after moving the footstraps further forward the Thommen seems to be the better board and can handle a 7.5m easily. The 7.5m on the S-Type is too big, and suits a 6.5m better.

The 75L board is a modified wave board with a tuttle box replacing the us-box. I got it out as I figured Jeff could try it (being lighter) and see if it sailed okay. After he seemed to have success with it I gave it a try and even though it got planing, a 7.5m on it was awkward. I used a 23cm KA symmetic fin, and surprisingly for such a small fin there was no spinout at all.
