Sparky (3994km): Kyeemagh, NSW, AU JP Slalom IV 84L, NP RS Slalom mkIII 6.2m2, Select S09 29cm First time out on my new sail and board just arrived from the good people at Windsurfing Perth and - woohoo! - I break through 30kts, with a peak speed of 30.2. Annoyingly the 2s average just is just shy of the magic number, but no matter. The RS Slalom sail is awesome. All my other sails under 7.5m are wave sails, and I'd wondered if I'd really notice the difference, but the answer is a definite yes. The new board feels really good too - very zippy. Uphauling on it is bloody tough and naturally it needs a good bit of wind to get going, but at speed it's really easy to control over the chop. Top afternoon! | ||||||||||||||||||
Karl (3279km): Tabou Rocket 140, Loft 02 7.4m and Select 36cm fin. Lots of friendly windsurfers and a beaut afternoon windsurfing. I probably should have used my smaller board but the wind was a bit up and down. Not as gusty as Narrabeen Lake gets though. Kyeemagh, NSW, AU

Adrian Vos (3785km): Kyeemagh, NSW, AU KA72 Link: http://www.ka72.com/TrackRecalc.aspx?fid=19346 Great to meet you Sparky, and good to see you again Karl!! Thanks for the loan of your board also mate. I was out there on my Starboard GO and Hellcat 7.2. Not the go fast gear, but nice for cruising. I did borrow Karl's board for a few runs but sadly the wind lulled at that time, so not good runs (slower than the GO!!). So I decided to go for distance. Came in at sunset with light and wind dissappearing quickly. Have not sailed til dark in many years, so it was nice the wind stuck around to let me do it. Sparky, today was not even great conditions for speed, so you will go much quicker on a good day. Well done mate!! I typically hover around 30 knots for 2s on an average NE, and I have gone over 33 knots on a good one!!. I think you will do better than me. Had a great sail today... fun just cruising around!! Would have been nice to have another 5 knots, but early in the season!! Cheers, Adrian |
