Magic last day!!!!!!

Arrived before lunch, rigged the avi 5.3 on the 48 with a 24.5 weedy and tried for alphas, happy with the results as my gybes didn't feel that good, but 2 24s says they weren't too bad.

After lunch wind really picked up, so I put a good amount of downhaul on the 4.4, (unlike yesterday, when I'd tuned for the initial light conditions, and hadn't tightened up when the wind picked up) Also used the 17cm weedy, instead of the damaged 19.

Still a bit uncomfortable in the middle choppy stuff, but the sail felt great, found a longer than normal gust and got one 38 10sec, all the rest were 36s

Not sure how the experts are going, we left early, but look for great things, I think the wind is stronger today and the water a bit flatter.

Thanks guys, it's mainly due to this place, it's absolutely fantastic, but I'm sure the 4.4 koncept is also a big contributing factor. having a small light efficient sail has given me a bit more confidence to go for it.

If it's at all possible you should just come here!!!!!

Geoff we're heading home tomorrow, so thw 40 may have to wait till next year.

Thank you to all for the kind words Cool (txs Ado Wink), the hard part has been trying to keep going faster when accumulating the previous days fatigue!!! Tom, the gear was Misty41, 23weedspeed, RSR5.0. I went out quickly wiz the 47 & 23weed & 5 before wind became too strong to test the fin and sail.. done 3 laps.. when back to shore I had already a 41 with the 47 and PB A, then changed down. Today another strong day in view, I am getting on the edge with the energy Embarassed.. we will see, no plans.. I am very happy as I have almost achieved all my goals which was 42 2s, 40 5x10, 25 A, I am missing the 37 NM!!Undecided Nic is preparing himself for the big day, I think he is going to smatch it big Cool, go Nic go Nic

Here is the track and results, a bit pi***d off did not made the 40knts 500m Yell, missed it yesterday too

Oh Mike, you have to stay for another day to go for 40! (Although I can't believe you still have the energy for more sailing, I would have been decrepit days ago!)) Well done! YOU ARE A LEGEND!!!

BTW I think you can call yourself a speed sailor now!

Sammy, top marks for persistence and commitment. 3 PB's at that level are really something. You can come home now.(Though I'm sure you don't want to, and you are probably looking into the logistics of a permanent move to Beachport!)

Thanks again people.

I didn't think the forecast looked that good, and by the tassie guys posts there's no way I could have got 40 today. I'm not that stressed about 40 at the moment, I can see it's a possibility, and I'll wait for it to come along, have no energy to go for it at the moment, (I've done over 500km so far this month, yes I know Kato did it in one day, but he's a bit younger than me)

Stopped in beautiful Clare tonight, see if we can get a bit further tomorrow.
