SeaSkip (2699km): Sandy Point, Vic, AU i didn't confirm wind speed on the day but think it was about 20 - 25, with gusts to 30ish. initially rigged my HSM GPS 5.5 and stuck it on my 122 Futura couple of runs down and checked my speeds 33.87. so stoked to reach that! But then....chatting to Kato as you do, he offered me his 87L Carbon Art SL51 ? How am i going to get up on THIS? It fits under my arm! 2nd or 3rd attempt and im up, then down, the gusty wind behind the dunes wasn't helping. Floated down a bit and tried again as james from Tassie Speed Seekers had advised, woosh i was up on this sliver of a board. Once on the plane it was very comfy, easier to find the straps than my Futura! I wasn't surprised that the first run didn't beat my 122L PB, but the day was young. With more helpfull comments from Izaak and James and remebering something Andrew Daff mentioned to me the day before, i had beaten my Futura PB with a speed i think will take some time for me to beat. Windsurfing hey... so accessible, massively addictive, and you can play on the holy ground next to the greats, and name drop. Huge thanks to everyone I met down there especially Craig, can't beleive my luck. Craig, ethics smethics, that board doesn't sail itself. Melbourne Cup weekend, yeehaah. Matt
