Primbee, NSW, AU - Cheeky Monkey ML92, TR-7 6.6m & 19cm Cheeky Monkey Delta.

Gusty & choppy! Not the ideal fin for the conditions & getting stung in the ankle by a ray or something did not help too

Rigged for the conditions as advised by Rexy Wink...

Gusty NE, started early to try the sail in the lighter conditions. Drag racing with Rick.

I97, RS Mk4 7, Delta 19.

Great to see some DDs out there with Karl and George out. I struggled a bit with setup and tuning with the Delta fin. Couldn't really get it dialled in and balanced like I do with the pointer fins. Seemed the gusts were too short to get up to speed before they were gone. Acceleration seems a lot slower, so need to sail differently and build up speed gradually rather than trying to slingshot like I normally do at Kyeemah. I think it will take a bit of practise with the fin to get the mid to high 30s 2S PR I am looking for.

Cheers,

Adrian

I can safely say this is the best windsurfing I have enjoyed for 2015.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU || 18-22 with some gusts around 25 NE

i101/ KA Race 7.1/ Weed 29 & Delta 21

Adrian, Carol and Karl were there ! It was hard to get used to the weed fins, very hard to go upwind. Very short bear-aways, the big gusts were in the middle where it was choppy. I am happy I managed a few jibes with the board going all the time, not sure if I can call them 'planing' jibes, but eventually will get there.

Great day on the bay... sunny and windy Cool Back to work on Monday, so it was a nice finish to the break. George was missing from the regular crew. Good to see Artur, Remi et al.

Just missed out on cracking 30, but happy with the >20 alpha.

Swan Bay, VIC, AU

Arrived late, apparently!

Banks were just going under enough for my 21deep BPWS, so i got out there with Jaques, Moose and Naz. Was having a ball blasting across the wind but underpowered in the bear offs. Soon there were more sails on the bay than i'd seen before with Tim, Dale, Bull and nice to meet you Bones. So with a distance Pb under my belt and my hands about to get very painfull, I made my way in. As i was de-rigging the wind really started to blow, always the way. This was when Jaques did his 43. Should've stayed out but was late for the home duties.

As always a great day on Swan Bay.

Well done Nigel great PB's, so close to 30 kts.  Working today so couldn't get out but saw someone on a KA sail hooking along beside the Molineux channel and tack up into Yarra bay which looked pretty flat.

Congratulations on the Alpha PBs. Getting over 20 knots on an alpha is very impressive, especially when top speed is not something like 40 knots.

good pb Adrian, was that the jibe you did around me?

I am speechless Nigel !  Smile

Cheeky Monkey I hope you did not get bitten by one of those blue ring octopuses that apparently live in the lake !

Johnny if you join the DD we will make you captain Wink

Artur & Remi, it was good to be away from busy Kyeemagh for a change, you should come too one day.

Sweet alpha PB Adrian. Nice to meet you. You do get used to the Deltas after a few sessions. Just have to persist.

Yep, I will persist with the delta up there. I think it would work better with a smaller sail, so need a nukin day to get up there.

That may well have been the gybe I did around you George!! That was a pretty good one. Most were not that good. Was struggling with the camber rotation a bit.

Well done everyone. Great day out. Particularly Nigel with all those pbs!

Had to try sailing this lake even though it meant a float out and a walk back.

Water is way shallow and weed on the surface in large patches can be sailed through although not at full speed of course.

The runs are short to make the most of the wind pressure.

Not sure if this map helps.

Thanks for the support SeaSkip. Yes it seems 2015 has started with the DD getting out and about.

It's a bit strange to call it a team when we sail in different locations however when that wind blows it doesn't matter where we are. The GPS results kind of brings us together.

BTW. I bumped into another DD before Xmas at Sanctuary Point who travels from Wagga of all places. He just missed a great session before a change came through. Is he a buddy of yours?

That would be Chris, I actually met him at Canton beach last year whilst sailing with Karl and George.

He was about to move down my way then so swapped numbers and we signed him up.

Yep, a great community and a fantastic way for the issolated to feel less so.
