Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU

JP60/OD5.6 21 weedie, then keefs 5m dezza edition sail

Spent the day getting to know the JP, it has a mind of its own and when it took off, it didnt matter whether I was ready or not. The falcon gives me a little more time to get things in place. Going to have some fun on that thing.

A fax arrived as I got to SP from the Captain who couldnt be with us today, with my plans for the day... get a small weedie on the board and get up to the weed beds with the teamies and get the speeds up. Went up there with Nigel for a bit, can see why the guys are getting great speeds up there.

Another great day at SP, with visiting Double Demerits teamies, and Akim celebrating his birthday. Hope we get many more days like this over the summer holidays.

Did some waterstart practice with dad then only went for a quick sail on the S-type 70 with an XS=1 2.5m. It was gusty and didn't feel like sailing anymore by the time we put the GPS on.

Nice transitions guys. You're killing it. Made a big mistake not coming down today. Conversely, Botany was out of control... 40 knots, 100s of boats and jetskis, massive chop. Total mayham!

Ian it would have to be an all time record and  thanks for posting and being apart of the team, 10 posts with the gustbusters in 15th spot is fantasticWink we have a great team with Pete from the ACT,tricky dicky from up your way, Rob and  Dezza from sydney, and your self  all posting on the same day, clubhouse Craig is in NZ at the moment but always a great  atmosphere with refreshments and bantar at the end of the day, it would be good if you made it down on a good n/easter and join in on the team spirit, merry xmas and a happy n/yCool

trickydicky was planning on doing the ledge to lancelon are you going ?

It's amazing how addictive the gustbusters team is, from freezing cold primbee winter days, to howling southerlies at lake wollumbolla, to hot summer NEs at Sanctuary Point. There's been clubhouse drinks, Keef weed fins, Craig Cole signature fins, tshirts, sail rigging advice, straight front leg advice, banter on the Internet, new Facebook friends....I've never had so much fun. There's been a lot of shopping involved too, new winter wetsuits, booties, helmet, go pro, GPS, seat harness, down haul winch, not to mention the boards, sails, booms and masts. Sold one wave board this weekend, might clear out the freeride stuff next 👍 Thanks to Keef for his captaincy and Ian K before that. Love the gustbusters

yes nigel i went to botany as well was definately the roughest ive ever sailed from kurnell .i only lasted about an hour and a half.good to hear youre enjoying it dezza.i bet you cant give up on gerroa completely though, its too nice there.i often sail out from the waves at gerroa doing big downwind runs at high speed cause it is quite smooth and fast with slalom gear.

hey Dezza i remember loaning Gav and Tonypolony a GPS and they thought all they needed was a GPS  to join the gustbusters Laughing

also remember saying to you, you need too get a GPS, oop's forgot to mention 3 new boards ,sails ,fins ,seat harness, winch, booms , masts Laughing

had a chatt with clubhouse Craig before he flew out to NZ and he  mentioned a special  meeting early january to raise funds for a barbecue for the clubhouse, Dezza if you can't make it to the meeting and seeing you useually give your old gear away, the proceeds from the sale of your free ride gear would be appreciated Laughing

Yes I'll have to make the long drive one day Keef. I haven't yet met half the members. How does a bloke get a nickname like "Clubhouse" ? Doesn't look like I'll make it to the Ledge to Lancelin this year, Tricky will have to fly the Gustbuster's flag.

Rob I have the guilts each time I dry past Gerroa, feels like I've dumped a best friend. Many happy days there, aiming to squeeze in some visits in the holidays, see you there! Keef I'll definitely chip in some funds towards the new bbq, proceeds from freeride boards these days won't buy us much more than a tin foil tray :( so we better get the tin and pass around the car park for spare coins. Or we could install parking meters for Sydney visitors, the double demerits took all the best spots in Sunday,no where left for the locals , poor tony polony had to park up on the road. Or we could charge double to people with large vans. And btw the hot shower block needs funding too, I think we need to go to the next council meeting. Ian, will leave it to Keef to explain the clubhouse, all sorts of shenanigans going on there recently

Yes Dezza whats up with the van vendetta?  As a recent recruit  to the gustbusters l find the friendly banter and helpfulness great, as my last team was spread out over about1200 km and l very rarely  sailed with another team member the actual  sailing as a team now is  fantastic. Gusties rule!

Great work Tony, don't forget we need a special licence from the council for the CRAIG COLE CLUBHOUSE spot too, it would be nice for the bar to have a water view for the special meeting in January that Craig is planning. In fact, let's ask them to install a BOOM GATE up at the entrance.

I've been speaking to the Council and there's plans for an exemption for blue trailers in the "no parking" space near the rubbish bins. I just need to drop off a brown paper bag full of "incentives" to the council chambers and they said they will look into it for me. At least I'll always be close to the field dressing supplies for Arky!
