Thats what you get whenyour are a wood duck and have not put in the time on the water .
Strangley I enjoyed the sail. The ex Sammy tush 5.3 is a kindly sail and I am sure can go a lot faster . Even with me driving.

2907 days ago 2 categories Liptons, sensational sail, felt really fast on a few occassions, gotta be happy with that, Mistral Speed 95, TR9 6.3m, pepeweed 22/48, my fave combo.
Lots of happy windsurfers. A few stories to be told from the day, I won't spoil any. Got a photo of sum1's GPS in Shark Bay, WOOHOO

2907 days ago My guests left very late last night and the next batch arrived early. But then the holes sort of aligned for a quick little session this arvo. When I say the holes aligned,I mean, getting a screwdriver and skewering the cheese. Or in other words, I put my brownie point bank balance further in the red than any GFC bank balance could ever go.
When arrived, Ken was chatting to Pas and the Novara kiters were well represented. The kiters have been kicked out from their local spot at Novara by a new Kite School. Not a bunch of happy campers, but one of them was keen to point out to me all the benefits of their new local. The inside run of smoothish water had them particularly excited and they lamented that as a windsurfer I would not be able to ever experience the thrill of sailing on smooth water. They also asked, that although I had enjoyed my sail today, I was not to tell anyone about this spot. They wanted it to remain a secret....
Ooops.
Anyhoo, a good fun quick session with Pas, I was under done board wise but the 6.6 was comfy when I was powered up, but not enough grunt to do any proper bear-aways down the inside. I am pretty satisfied with the FangyfinMk1; it has a number of scars from touchdowns, but still feels solid under foot, but that wasn’t enough to keep me from being smoked by Pas on the run home…. Managed to finish with a smile on the dial and a Top Ten Fangy Day :-)

2907 days ago 2 categories Great crew at Liptons, too numerous to list here, probably more windsurfers than kiters for a change.
After my success at rigging optimistically yesterday, I tried it again today, went for the 5.4 on the 43 with an untested 16.5@55deg.
All but the board was the wrong decision, should have gone with the 5.8 and a bigger fin. The 16.5@55 was running at a approx 30deg angle of attack most of the time, it was only when well powered up, (in the occasional gust that made it into the flat stuff), down wind that I was pointing any where near straight ahead. The 5.4 wasn't too far off just need a bit more grunt.
Today I had the watch on my right wrist, as it was a port tack speed run.
